Chapter 27 - Chapter 27: "Forcing the Hand" of Wei Yenwu

Flandre didn't show a look of disgust; she floated curiously in the air and picked up a large pair of forceps handed to her by the Forensic Doctor. After fiddling with them for a while, she looked at him.

"Could I trouble you, Uncle, to rearrange these bodies according to my instructions?"

Hearing her words, the Forensic Doctor looked at Ch'en Huijie.

"Do as she says," Ch'en replied. She felt a flash of inspiration in her mind, but she couldn't quite grasp where the problem lay. Seeing that Ch'en had given the order, the Forensic Doctor summoned his courage and began moving the bodies.

But the more he moved them, the more something felt wrong. After ten minutes, the five mangled corpses actually became four complete ones.

"How is that possible!"

Not just Ch'en, even the Forensic Doctor was stunned. Because these were quintuplet sisters with the same blood type, they hadn't considered that one person might be missing during the initial examination.

"The missing person is the second sister of the Xia family!" the Forensic Doctor said with certainty.

Ch'en Huijie naturally understood as well. The reason was simple: the second sister was the one whose head had been severed. Only then would she have the opportunity to "piece" herself together using the bodies of the others.

"No problems now, right?" Having finished everything, Flandre clapped her hands in satisfaction.

Ch'en Huijie looked at Flandre. "How did you find out?"

"The scent of the blood is different. And every scene has the same scent, which is almost identical to the victims', but with a slight difference. So she must have been injured as well, and not lightly."

After Flandre finished speaking, Ch'en Huijie thanked her. She then looked at the pale, swaying Little Tiger who was still insisting on standing there.

"I need to follow this lead; I'll leave it to you to take Flandre back."

Beatrice nodded and then looked at Flandre. Flandre, landing beside her, gave a sweet smile.

"Are we going back now?"

"No, remember what I said before? I'm taking you to buy dolls!" After walking out of the morgue, Beatrice shook her head, trying to relax and not think about what was inside.

"Yay!" Flandre raised both hands to praise the sun.

Getting into Beatrice's car, the two soon arrived at a large shopping mall. After Beatrice covered Flandre's bat wings with a small shawl, she took her hand and they walked in together. Arriving at a toy store, Flandre stared intently at the exquisite dolls inside.

"Is there anything you don't like?" Beatrice asked.

Flandre shook her head. "These dolls are all so pretty, Flandre likes them all!"

"Then we'll buy them all!" With a wave of her hand, Beatrice bought out the entire wall of dolls and plush toys. Seeing the Swire Family bank card she took out, the owner's smile was so wide it almost reached his ears.

"Arrange a vehicle to deliver all these things to this address..." Beatrice wrote down an address and handed it to him. Upon seeing the address, the owner's expression became even brighter, because that was the luxury villa district with the most expensive housing prices in all of Lungmen. Selling things here for a lifetime might only earn enough to buy the cheapest house there.

"Come on, big sister will take you to buy clothes!" Since they were already here, Beatrice, her shopping spirit ignited, clearly wouldn't be satisfied with just one store. She pulled Flandre through every floor of the mall; as long as Flandre lingered for more than two seconds at a spot, her money would immediately follow.

The shopping spree was so intense that Flandre felt a bit apprehensive along the way.

"It's fine, this is just pocket change. As long as you're happy, Flandre." To this, Beatrice expressed that if the money was gone, she could just earn more, but it was essential to make a rare friend happy.

After they finished shopping, the two drove back toward the villa district. Just as they arrived at the entrance, they saw a crowd gathered, with several leaders criticizing some people in suits. Beatrice recognized them as the Property Management of the area.

"What do you mean you don't know? So many people saw a Blood Demon wandering around inside, and you say you don't know! That's a Blood Demon! What if it sneaks into our house at night? I pay so much in Property Management fees every year, not for you to act like you're blind." A middle-aged woman leading the group pointed at the Property Management staff's nose and scolded them.

"But those villas belong to Wei..." The head of the Property Management team had a bitter expression, trying to explain.

"I don't care about any 'Wei' or whatever! He must move out today. No, he must get out of Lungmen, or we're not done!" Seeing the Property Management dare to talk back, the leader jumped up and cursed.

"You're the one who should get out of Lungmen!" Hearing those words, Beatrice couldn't help but shout.

The woman turned around, saw Beatrice, and showed a look of disdain. "Where did this little girl come from? Adults are talking, go stand aside."

This immediately made Beatrice's fur stand on end. "Who do you think you are, daring to speak to me like that? And an adult? Aside from looking old and having makeup thicker than your skin, in what way are you like an adult?"

When it came to being sharp-tongued, Beatrice considered herself second to none. Rebuked by the Little Tiger, the woman's face turned pale with rage. She pointed at Beatrice and said: "Fine, fine, fine! Do you dare give your name? I'll make sure your whole family can't stay in Lungmen by tomorrow."

At that moment, Beatrice saw an Old Man not far away, and she couldn't help but show a strange expression.

"Oh, sure. Listen closely. My name is Beatrice, Beatrice Swire. I'm curious if you and the person behind you have the ability to make the Swire Family unable to stay in Lungmen."

The Little Tiger indicated that while she didn't like using her influence to bully others, she didn't mind at all if someone wanted to see the "influence" behind her. After she finished speaking, the woman was completely stunned. Only then did she realize: blonde Feline—wasn't that the most iconic trait of the Swire Family? She must have been out of her mind; how could she not have realized?

Just then, Beatrice stepped out of the car, looked around at the crowd, and then opened the back door to let Flandre out.

"And this is the 'Blood Demon' you were talking about. Now, let me tell you two things. First, she is my friend. If you want to cause trouble for her, you'll have to go through me first. Second, the villa she's living in is under Governor Wei's name, and the person who bought it was Lady Fumizuki. If you want her to leave... I suggest you go directly to those two. Or to be more direct... get a few more people and go 'force the hand' of Governor Wei. What if they agree? It would be more useful than taking your anger out on the Property Management."

With every sentence Beatrice spoke, those people took a step back. Hearing her publicly suggest they "force the hand" of Wei Yenwu, those people were so terrified their limbs went weak, and they scattered in all directions, scrambling away.

"Tch~~ They don't even have that much courage; they're just a bunch of trash who only know how to bully ordinary people. Don't be afraid, Flandre. With me here, no one can do anything to you." Beatrice only patted Flandre's head after seeing those people flee.

Flandre nodded.

"Well said. How could someone from the Swire Family be intimidated by such petty scoundrels?" An Old Man's voice rang out from the side.

Beatrice, who had just been acting like a mountain king, instantly turned into a little kitten. "Grandfather!"

The Old Man nodded to Beatrice and then looked curiously at Flandre. Although he didn't know why Wei Yenwu would perform such a series of mysterious, awkward, and absurd actions, he was certain of one thing: this little Blood Demon girl must have brought Wei Yenwu some incredible news, which was why he would take such a huge risk to let her stay in Lungmen.

Furthermore, the fact that the other party had arranged for her to stay in the villa district where it was least likely to encounter people, while not restricting her movements, made the Old Man even more curious. After his granddaughter became involved with her, he had made inquiries and confirmed that she was likely related to Wei Yenwu's other niece, who had been taken away from Lungmen by the Ursus people over twenty years ago. He stopped his investigation there, as continuing would be impolite.

"Good afternoon, Old Man." Flandre had a term for such old men in her other memories; although he might not be as old as she was, the age of the Blood Demon race cannot be measured by common sense. Compared to him, she was still just an underage little Blood Demon, so calling him "Old Man" wasn't wrong.

"Cough, cough, cough, what a polite child. My granddaughter is usually so arrogant that I was always worried she wouldn't get along with her peers. It's a good thing she could make friends with you." The Old Man's words made Beatrice show a helpless expression.

"Alright, alright, I won't disturb you two any longer. You probably haven't had dinner yet; I'll have the butler bring over two bowls of hot meat soup later." The Old Man waved his hand and, supported by those beside him, walked away.

When Beatrice dropped Flandre off at her door, the place was already piled high with various large boxes. These were all the things they had bought at the mall earlier. The shop had sent everything over in a large truck.

"So many things, it looks like it'll take a long time to move them!" Beatrice rolled up her sleeves, preparing to start acting as manual labor.

Flandre shook her head, then pushed open the door and beckoned to the boxes. "Come on in!"

Then, under Beatrice's astonished gaze, the boxes filled with goods floated up one after another and followed Flandre into the house.

"Wow, is this Originium Arts or Sarkaz witchcraft? It looks so convenient," Beatrice asked curiously as she walked.
