Chapter 1 - Ep 1 - A Bad Day!

Episode :- 1 — A bad day!

—California... a place that never slept on its dreams. Sunlit campuses blended into glassy tech towers, and the air itself seemed charged with ambition. In and around Silicon Valley, innovation wasn't just a word—it was a way of life. Students dreamed big, fueled by startups, late-night coding sessions, and the presence of some of the sharpest minds in the world.

There were countless intelligent people all around, each chasing their own dreams. But among them was one young man—just twenty-one years old—about to catch our attention.

Edward

A Student from Stanford's, tall and good-looking, though his messy hair and wrinkled clothes made it clear he didn't care much about appearances. He usually kept his head down, hands in his pockets, avoiding attention.

Yet his brilliance didn't always earn admiration. More often, it drew jealous stares, envy and whispered mockery.

This is the story of Edward—the genius no one truly understood.

—On a bright, sunny morning, Edward slouched in the middle of the lecture hall, staring at the board but not really seeing it. His eyes were distant, like someone lost in thought, completely somewhere else. His mind was miles away—thinking about birthday party that night, the laughter, the music… and maybe a slice of cake.

Suddenly, the lecturer's voice cut through his thoughts.

"Edward! Are you listening?"

Edward blinked, caught off guard. "Uh… yes, sir, I showered this morning with the new soap,". He tried to sound serious, pride in his voice, but a flicker of nervousness made his words stumble.

For a second, the whole class burst out laughing.

The lecturer frowned. "What!?—Are you mad? I asked if you're listening to the class!"

Edward scratched his head and gave an awkward smile. "Oh… that listening."

The lecturer sighed. "Come here. Solve this problem."

Edward walked up to the board with a nervous smile, rubbing his palms on his jeans. He stared at the problem, tilting his head slightly. After One minute may be less than one minute. He picked up the chalk, and began writing.

The chalk moved fast. Too fast.

Within moments, the solution was done.

The classroom fell silent.

Some of the students whispers

"Did he just… solve it?"

"He wasn't even listening!"

"Maybe he studied this at home?"

A few boys exchanged looks—half shocked, half annoyed. One of them muttered, "No way."

Some girls glanced at Edward again, this time with quiet admiration, eyebrows raised, impressed smiles forming.

Edward stepped back from the board, squinting at his own work like he wasn't fully sure how he did it himself.

The lecturer stared at the board, then slowly turned to Edward and " Ok, Sit down."

Edward gave a small, awkward laugh, scratched the back of his head, and walked back to his seat. As soon as he sat down, he leaned back, eyes drifting to the window

—and just like that, he was gone again, lost in his own world.

When the lecture finally ended, the lecturer said, "That's all for today."

Edward blinked twice and lifted his head. "Wait… is it over?" glancing around as if he'd just woken up.

Everyone else packed their bags calmly, but Edward suddenly panicked. His notebook slipped from his hands and tumbled to the floor with small sound. He bent down to pick it up, then straightened up too quickly.

—Ttakk!—

His head smacked straight into the edge of the desk, tiny stars and birds were circling upon his head. The sound echoed across the classroom like a warning bell.

"Ah—! that hurts," he rubbed his head and wincing. He blinked twice, then once more. "Yep… still alive."

He shoved his papers into his bag upside down, tried to zip it, failed, pulled them out, and tried again. The zipper finally closed—crooked, but closed.

Edward rushed toward the door and nearly crashed into a girl coming in.

"Oh—sorry! sorry! My bad!" he said quickly, already stepping past her without stopping.

With his half-messy hair and sweat on his face, Edward hurried out of the classroom—clumsy, late, and completely focused on one thing only: birthday party.

Edward rushed out, bag slung over one shoulder. Near the doorway Billy, Joe, and Sandy noticed him and grinned mischievously.

Billy shows edward to Joe and smirked. "Look! Someone's in a real hurry!"

Sandy laughed, folding his arms. "Yeah… running away like a little mouse."

Joe spotted Edward and smirked. "Looks like he's rushing to his girlfriend's birthday," he said with a mocking tone.

He leaned closer to Billy and Sandy. "Come on… let's mess with him a little."

Billy's face lit up with a grin. "Yeah. This should be fun."

The three of them shared sneaky looks, already moving toward Edward, clearly planning to bully him.

As Edward rushed down the hall, he muttered to himself, "It's already five-thirty… I really need to hurry."

Suddenly, Joe casually stuck his leg out.

Edward didn't see it.

The next second—THUD!

He fell hard onto the floor, the loud crash echoing through the hallway as everyone turned to look.

Billy and Sandy burst out laughing, clapping their hands together in a quick high-five.

"Nice one," Billy snorted.

Joe didn't laugh. He just smirked, staring down at Edward with a cold, hateful look.

Edward's glasses slipped off and he frantically searching around. "Where are my glasses? I can't see!"

Then he spotted them in the corner. Crawling over, he grabbed them and breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank God… found them."

He wiped them on his t-shirt and shouted, "Who did this?!"

Joe came in front of him and said,

"That's me, you nerdy jerk; I pushed you down. So what?"

Edward asked "But why?—What's your problem?" his voice unsteady.

Joe's eyes narrowed as he leaned backward, and whispered "Hmm… let me think… yeah! I got it… it's you!" his voice low and sharp. Without warning, he grabbed Edward by the collar of his t-shirt and dragged him close, the tension crackling between them.

Edward said in a shaky voice, "Let me go! I just want to get home."

Joe smirked and replied, "Seems pretty hurried, right?"

Suddenly brutal hit fills the air—BHAMM— Joe slams his knee into Edward's stomach. That impact exploding through the room.

"Ah!" —Edward groaned in pain. He slammed his fist against the floor, while his other hand pressed against his stomach, fell down on floor.

Billy and Sandy laughed.

Billy chuckled, "What a waste… just a bookworm. Studying all the time, can't do anything."

As the three started to leave, Joe turned back, spat his saliva on Edward, and kicked him in the legs.

As evening fell and streetlights flickered on,

Edward slowly got up, holding his stomach and groaning a little. "Okay… still on time,".

Trying to ignore the pain, he limped over to his bicycle, thinking about birthday party and forcing a small smile. But the moment he saw it,—his smile vanished.

One tire was completely flat. He pressed it with his thumb.

"Oh no… not today," he groaned.

As he reached for the handlebars, his fingers stuck. He pulled his hand back and stared at it.

"What—ugh! Gum? Seriously..?"

—He groaned, pulling his hand back with a disgusted look. He shook it hard, then used his other hand to scrape the gum off, his face twisted with irritation.

He stared at his bicycle and looked around helplessly, then looked up at the sky—"Why does this always happen to me?" he sighed, half-laughing, half-defeated.

With no other choice, Edward pushed his bicycle along the quiet, starry street.

Suddenly, a strange little spark flashed in the sky. He froze, squinting up at it.

"Wait… what?" he shocked, rubbing his eyes. He blinked a few times, then shrugged. "Hmm… maybe my brain's just playing tricks on me."

He scratched the back of his head, gave a small, confused grin, and shook his head like even he didn't fully believe it.

Exhausted, Edward finally reached home. He kicked the door shut with his heel and groaned,

"Ughhh… I'm dead."

He tossed his bag onto the chair and didn't even bother looking back. With the grace of a fallen tree, he collapsed face-first onto the bed.

"Five minutes," he mumbled into the pillow. "Just five…"

His body gave up instantly. His eyes fluttered, his vision blurred, and before he could even turn over, sleep grabbed him like a thief. His phone had started ringing, soft music drifted through the room—the soft Runaway Aurora song ringtone of chorus playing gently in the background.

The phone buzzed on the table.

Edward didn't move.

It rang again.

Still nothing—only a faint snore.

The song kept playing, wrapping him in a dreamlike calm, pulling him deeper and deeper, as if he'd fallen into another world entirely.

On the glowing screen, a name slowly appeared.

—Stacy

The phone vibrated again… right next to a completely unconscious Edward, smiling in his sleep like life couldn't possibly touch him right now.

What was that mysterious glowing spark in the sky, is it really an illusion?

Who is Stacy? and why was she calling him now?

What about the birthday party—had it already begun without him?

Did Edward wake up and answer the call, or did the phone keep ringing while he slept on?
