Chapter 20 - A Reluctant Master

His words were filled with disappointment.

Half an hour later.

Xu feng sat opposite Bai He and Ye Shiyuan. After sorting things out, he finally asked, "You're really only fifteen years old?"

So, the thin and weak looking youth before him did not merely look fifteen, but he truly was fifteen.

Xu feng could not believe that he had actually acknowledged as his master someone who was less than two years younger than him and whose strength was clearly inferior to his own.

"Yes," Bai He replied.

"You lied to me!"

"How did I lie to you? I never once said that I was powerful! Besides, I really am an elder of Lingguang Sect and the personal disciple of the sect's founding ancestor."

Xu feng felt as though a bolt of lightning had struck him on a clear day.

What Bai He said was correct, yet he still felt as if he had fallen into a huge trap.

"You've already acknowledged me as your master, you're not allowed to regret it! There has always been the rule that a master can expel a disciple from the sect, but there has never been a case of a disciple abandoning their master."

So this master, whether he liked it or not, he had no choice but to accept.

The task of accepting a disciple had already been completed and Ye Shiyuan and Xu feng had successfully been made acquainted.

The mission was now two percent complete.

The feeling was rather wonderful.

Xu feng wore an expression of disdain.

"Since you're so determined to be my master, you should at least teach me something. Don't tell me you don't know anything at all."

"You're underestimating people a bit too much. A top scholar's teacher doesn't necessarily have to be a top scholar themselves. As the saying goes, a master leads you through the door, but cultivation depends on the individual! From now on, just work hard," Bai He said earnestly.

Bai He then took out several manuals and tossed them to him. "These are your meeting gifts from your master, take them. They'll be enough for you to cultivate properly for a while. If there's anything you don't understand, you can… ask Ye Shiyuan!"

Across the entire Baize Peak, Ye Shiyuan was the one who understood the most.

"Then what about you, are you just going to ignore me?" Xu feng asked.

"Haven't I already given you plenty of cultivation manuals? Don't worry, after you finish practicing those, I'll give you more," Bai He replied.

Bai He lacked many things, but what he did not lack at all were spell manuals.

There were countless of them, all left behind by his master back then who had told him to cultivate diligently, saying that once he mastered them all, he would be invincible under heaven.

"Why do I feel like I've boarded a pirate ship?" Xu feng muttered.

Bai He pretended not to hear him.

Anyway, the person had already been tricked into becoming his disciple, so everything else could be discussed later.
