Chapter 54 - Chapter 54: Returning to Foosha Village

After that little interlude, Hera and the others stayed for another three days. Kuina and Hera took the opportunity to ask Genzo about the problems they had encountered in their swordsmanship.

During these four days, Genzo also explained the concepts of Great Swordsmen and Black Blades to them. Now, the two of them spent every spare moment infusing their Armament Haki into their swords, but since it hadn't been long, there were no results yet.

After saying goodbye to Genzo, Hera suddenly realized she might have forgotten someone. She hadn't seen Zoro since she returned. Seeing this, Kuina teased, "You, are you only uninterested in him because Zoro isn't a girl? Father said he went out to gain experience as a Pirate Hunter and hasn't been back for a long time."

Hera blushed slightly at Kuina's teasing. "What are you talking about? What kind of talk is that?"

Ain added fuel to the fire from the side. "Exactly, exactly. I noticed it back at the training camp. You're both Devil Fruit users, but you barely spared Binz a glance, yet you invited me onto your ship immediately."

Hera started muttering to herself, saying things like 'girls being close isn't the same as yuri,' 'what's wrong with fragrant and soft girls,' and 'do you know the four ways to express yuri?' This made the other three burst into laughter.

Soon, the argo arrived at Foosha Village. From a distance, they could see Luffy practicing alone on the beach.

Seeing Luffy from the ship, Hera used the'Shave' technique to move from the deck to the sand.

"Long time no see, Luffy! Why are you all alone? Where's Brother Ace?"

Luffy was startled by the voice behind him. Turning around and seeing it was Hera, he became overjoyed. "Hera! You finally decided to come back and see me?"

Hearing this, Hera irritably ground her knuckles into Luffy's head. "I came back as soon as I graduated from the Marine recruit training camp. What do you mean 'finally decided to come back'?"

Hera had another purpose for returning. Luffy's combat strength when he first set out to sea in the original story was honestly a bit underwhelming. How could Garp's grandson not know the Six Powers? Thus, Hera planned to take this opportunity to train Luffy properly.

Hera said to Luffy, "It's already afternoon, so stop practicing for today. Take me to see Aunt Dadan. I'll teach you training techniques tomorrow. I just met Sabo a few days ago, and he's much stronger than you are now."

Luffy was extremely excited upon hearing Hera's words. He pestered her to tell him about her adventures and how Sabo was doing.

By then, the argo had docked and Hera's crew had arrived. Hera introduced the three of them to Luffy, making his desire to go to sea and find companions even more urgent.

"Alright, let's talk once we get to Aunt Dadan's. I don't want to tell the same story twice."

Hera's return made Dadan's group of Bandits ecstatic. The little girl they had watched grow up was back. They immediately threw a banquet. During the party, everyone was curious about Hera's experiences, insisting she tell them everything in detail.

Unable to watch any longer, Dadan shooed the other Bandits away. "Go on, get out of here! How old are you all, still wanting to listen to a child's stories? It doesn't matter for you old fogies, but Little Ye Shi needs to sleep."

Dadan looked at Hera, who had grown quite a bit, and said, "You've grown up. It's good that you've returned safely."

Feeling Dadan's warmth, Hera hugged her. "I'm back. Don't worry, I'll be fine. Many people are looking out for me now."

Dadan laughed upon hearing this. "So you're saying you're looking down on my strength, that I can't protect you anymore?"

Hera quickly acted spoiled. "How could I? This is my home."

"Good, good. You're not like that heartless Garp, who just dumped three kids here and ignored them. As long as we're still in your heart, that's enough. You're always welcome here."

After they finished talking, Hera felt a bit sleepy and went back to the secret base to sleep.

Early the next morning, Hera dragged Luffy to the beach. "Listen up, Luffy. Our time is tight and the task is heavy. I'll be staying here for three days. During this time, I'll teach you the Six Powers. You must study and practice hard, and strive to develop Haki by the time you set out to sea."

As soon as Luffy heard Hera was going to teach him the Six Powers, he immediately resisted. "I'm the man who will become the Pirate King! I won't learn Marine stuff. If I'm going to learn something, I'll learn the 'Six Pirate Powers'!"

Hera laughed at his words, though it was a laugh of exasperation. "'Six Pirate Powers'? I've changed my mind. If you can't learn even one of the techniques in three days, forget about being the Pirate King. I'll capture you right now and take you to Garp so you can cut the line and join this year's recruit training camp."

Luffy was still a bit worried. "But if I learn the Six Powers, you can't catch me and force me to be a Marine."

Hera said, "Don't worry. The Six Powers are no longer a secret in the New World. All the larger Pirate Crews know them."

Only then did Luffy feel at ease.
