Chapter 12 - Buying Information on School Violations

In the end, because he had made Chie angry, the deal price was set at 600,000 points.

Ryunosuke signed the contract listlessly with a face full of unwillingness. He felt as if he had just lost 400,000 points...

The two shook hands as a sign the agreement was reached. Ryunosuke proposed that in the future he might need cooperation from Honami or other Class B people. Chie stated she didn't mind and would convey it to them.

Their transaction was officially complete. As for the money... it remained the same as before: prove the results first, then get paid. This was very reasonable; only a fool would want to pay upfront before the work was done.

Ryunosuke arrived at the student council room. After greeting Manabu as usual, he sat down and began working. His upperclassman, Akane, looked a bit displeased because Ryunosuke's presence was considered to disturb the alone time between herself and the President.

After completing part of his work, Ryunosuke pretended to ponder and asked Manabu. "President, how many points are needed to buy information about student regulations and violation penalties?"

Manabu stopped his work and adjusted his glasses position. "Oh? So you're about to make your move?"

Ryunosuke played dumb and shook his head. "I don't understand what the President means..."

Manabu glanced at Akane beside him. He understood Ryunosuke's reason for playing dumb and said, "Tachibana, go out for a moment. There's something important I want to discuss with him."

Akane just answered "Oh" then left. She stood in front of the student council room door to stand guard.

Seeing Akane had left, Ryunosuke stopped pretending and directly asked, "How many points are needed to buy information on the student regulation system and penalty standards?"

Manabu extended one finger. "1,000,000 personal points."

*THUD!*

Ryunosuke almost fell from his chair.

Damn, one million again!

Did he have bad luck with the number one million? The transaction with Honami was also one million. If it continued like this, wouldn't he not make any profit at all?

He immediately got up and sat back in his chair, trying to act calm while playing the emotional card.

"President, look at my dedication working for you for years. Can't the price be negotiated again?"

Ryunosuke rubbed his fingers and extended one finger symbolically.

"10,000 points, how about it? I promise I'll take better care of your younger sister in the future."

Manabu was almost made to laugh by the craziness of this thick-faced young man in front of him.

"Forget about those 10,000 points. It seems you've only been working for me for two days. How can you say it so confidently and shamelessly?"

"Eeeh..."

Facing Manabu's sarcasm, even the usually thick-faced Ryunosuke felt a bit embarrassed until his face reddened. However, he still boldly continued bargaining; after all, this was about money. Bargaining even a little meant he could save more to pay off the debts outside...

Due to persistent pleas and shameless attitude, Manabu finally compromised. The price dropped to 500,000 personal points, with an additional condition: helping his younger sister, Suzune, so she could develop.

Ryunosuke agreed without hesitation. As for guiding his sister, he unconsciously immediately threw that thought to the back of his head. Besides, later there would be Ayanokouji who could be used as a tool, he didn't want to bother dealing with that.

He didn't know that in the future, because of his interference, Ayanokouji wouldn't choose Suzune as his main tool, but would consider Ryunosuke as the best choice.

Back to the present, Ryunosuke transferred 500,000 personal points to Manabu's terminal account and completed the transaction. He immediately took the regulation documents and began reading them. To him, every second passed without reading these documents felt like a financial loss...

Manabu, seeing him so serious, didn't disturb him. Since time was almost up, he placed the student council room key on the table and gave a friendly warning.

"Remember to lock the door when you leave."

Without looking up, Ryunosuke waved his hand as a sign of understanding.

After Manabu left, Ryunosuke continued reading those regulations until finished. After understanding all the school regulations, he rubbed his tired eyes and let out a long sigh.

Now all the rules were clear. What behaviors deducted points and conditions for adding points were fully understood. The next steps would be more convincing.

Ryunosuke recalled the contradictory agreements between Sae and Chie, and he began formulating a plan. Although difficult, it wasn't impossible to do, at least in this first month.

He wanted to rake in money from both sides. On one side was Chie's request for Class D's points to drop below 100. On the other side was Sae's desire to rise in rank, where each rank increase was valued at 2,000,000 points.

So far he had 500,000 personal points remaining after paying for information earlier. (Coming from Sae's down payment of 800,000, student council salary 100,000, and living expense savings from always eating free packages).

He sat on the sofa while holding his forehead and sighing. Money really disappeared quickly. The only golden opportunity to find money was in this first month, when other classes hadn't realized the school's situation yet, so he could maximize profits.

Ryunosuke took the key on the table and prepared to leave. It was now 7 PM. He wanted to see if the supermarket still provided free food. If not, he'd be forced to spend 193 Yen to buy instant noodles.

This was the consequence of the massive debt left by his parents. Although he wasn't the one who borrowed, as a child, he felt he had a moral obligation to pay it off.

Ryunosuke could only think hard about making money at this school by utilizing his knowledge of the future. He was very aware that once he left this school, he was nobody. He had no business talent and his physical abilities were average. Even in his previous life he didn't finish his schooling. That's why he had to study seriously here so as not to fall behind.

He knew where his strengths lay, while understanding where his weaknesses were. His knowledge of the future would disappear once he graduated. So, he had to accumulate as much money as possible now, at least enough to pay off debts and have leftovers for a decent life.

That was the reason why he was so crazy about finding money; solely so he wouldn't starve to death after leaving this school later.
