Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Lunch mess

Jay's POV:

I quickly took my food and walked toward the cafeteria door, but I was stopped when I ran into Aries—my so-called-brother, who is disguised as my cousin.

His brows furrowed when he saw me. I raised an eye brow.

"Hey, Aries! Over here!" A girl shouted.

But Aries didn't move. Neither did I. I felt someone approaching us until...

"Aries. Who is she? Why are you staring at her like that?" The girl said.

I turned towards that girl and said, "Hi! I'm Jasper Jean Mariano. Jay Jay for short. I'm the new transferee. Aries' cousin"

"Oh! So you are the new transferee in section e. I'm Rakki. Rakki San Diego. I'm the class president of section c" She said, offering a hand.

I shook it. She introduced me to everyone. And I was a little embarrassed. Not of everyone, but of Aries.

"So, Jay-Jay... How's your experience with Section E?" One guy— probably Michael—asked.

I didn't want them to know anything about how section e has treated me. I'm not a complaint box.

"It's okay... They're being nice to me," I replied, forcing a smile.

"I think that's a lie. Section E is full of barbarians. They have records both inside and outside of school," Rakki commented.

I frowned at her words. Seriously? Barbarians? I don't like where this going.

"No need to worry... Jay will fit in just fine with Section E," Aries said.

I looked at him. Ugh. What does he want?!

I already felt embarrassed enough. I slowly pulled away from Rakki's embrace.

"Rakki, I have to go now. See you later"

I didn't wait for a response and immediately left the cafeteria. I feel suffocating near Aries. Seriously.

He is my cousin. That's what they tried to make me believe. But I knew he is my own brother. I don't know why but he is angry with me.

I used to be a troublemaker at my old school. Since we were a broken family, I rebelled. My grandma took me in to take care of me, hoping my life would turn out better with her, but it had no effect.

Until one day, Grandma had a heart attack because of one of my fights. My aunts got mad at me—except for Aunt Gema, Aries' mother. She was the only one who made me feel that not everything was my fault. Out of shame, I told Grandma I would just leave.

Aunt Gemma took me in.

When I arrived at their house, I thought everything would be fine, but Aries got mad when he saw me. He said that if I didn't leave, then he would. Aunt Gema didn't do anything, so Aries left, and we only saw each other here. That was really hard for Aunt Gema—I could feel it, even though she never said anything. I don't know why Aries is mad at me.

I know Aries is my brother. I know Aunt Gemma isn't the biological mother of Aries. I don't know why, but they all tried to make me believe that Aries is just my cousin. I don't know why.

Aunt Gema took me in since they didn't have a daughter. I agreed and promised Grandma and everyone else that I would fix my life and myself. But promises are meant to be broken. It is too late to change myself.

Before I even realized it, I had reached the Section E building. I grabbed a decent-looking chair and table, and sat in it.

I had just finished my first meal and was about to open the second one when someone snatched it away. Fast—faster than The Flash.

My other classmates quickly gathered around and fought over it like a bunch of starving people.

I saw Keifer leaning against the wall, just watching our classmates scramble for food.

"Share some!"

"Give us some!"

"This one's mine!"

I stayed silent cause I know that section e isn't allowed in cafeteria. But they can ask. Is the word permission not in their dictionary.

"Forgive them, they're just hungry," someone said.

I turned to see who it is. My breath hitched a bit. Not enough for anyone to notice.

It's Felix. My step brother...somehow. I stayed silent as he doesn't know that.

"I'm Felix," he introduced himself, holding out a hand.

Yeah, I know. I shook it, without saying a word. I just took out the big Piattos from my bag. I was about to open it when someone snatched it away again.

"Hey! What the—" I yelled.

The thief disappeared, buried under the swarm of starving classmates. What the hell? What kind of classmates do I have? Vultures? I think they practice robbing everynight.

Even though I'm angry, I felt pity for. Poor guys. They can't bring food from cafeteria.

"Hahaha… Don't bring out any food yet," Felix said.

I glared at him. "What's wrong with your classmates? Starving wolves?"

He laughed at my comment. "Hahaha… Kind of."

I felt like all the energy from my meal had been drained away just from being annoyed with my classmates. They just scattered the wrappers and leftovers all over the ground. I stayed silent cause I know they're starving. If snatching food has a prize, I bet my whole property, that they will get first.

After finishing off the food that should have been mine, they all went inside, leaving only Felix and me outside. Keifer is also here, but he is at a distance.

"They're gone… You can bring out your food now," Felix said.

I did as he suggested and took out my Nova. But before I could even open it, Felix snatched it away. What the hell?! A thief?

"Hey! What the hell?!"

"Sorry… It's my favorite," Felix said as he walked away, eating.

What the fuck?! Is my brother a thief?!

Now I was alone. No one left to steal my food. Finally! It felt like an eternity.

I took out my Cheappy. But damn it… The moment I held the Tear Here part, someone snatched it from my hands again.

Aaarrrggghhhhh… What the hell? I glared at the thief.

Keifer? What the hell?! Even you too joined them.

"Have you people never heard of asking first?! If you re hungry, go buy your own!!" He glared back at me.

"We can't buy anything…" he muttered.

"Why?* I asked softly, even though I know the answer. I should act fool duh!

He didn't answer, instead he just walked away, eating my snacks. Damn!

I opened my bag and took out a lolipop. Atleast I have this.

I entered the room, eating my lolipop. The moment I entered...
