Chapter 109 - Chapter 110 Conflict Escalates

When Mary returned home, she immediately saw the gauze wrapped around Sheldon's knee.

She asked, both surprised and distressed, "What happened?"

"It looks like he fell himself, I don't know the specifics..." Georgie realized Mary was on the verge of exploding and quickly explained.

"No, Bobbi did it, she's a little devil!" Sheldon seemed to find his backbone when his mother returned and insisted on his opinion.

At this moment, Connie and Mike also arrived at the Cooper family, and seeing the injury on Sheldon's knee, they were both surprised.

Afterward, Connie curiously asked, "Moonpie, did Bobbi hit you?"

Although Sheldon felt wronged, he still shook his head and honestly said, "No, but her smile was very scary and terrifying."

A smile? How scary could the smile of a cute little girl be? Connie expressed her inability to understand.

On the other side, Mary didn't care about all that; hearing that Bobbi had bullied her little son again, she excitedly said, "No, I'm going to go argue with Herschel's family."

Saying that, Mary rolled up her sleeves and was about to leave.

"Wait, Mary—"

George ran out of the kitchen, pulled his wife back, and said, "I've already understood the situation at the time; Sheldon fell because he proactively attacked someone else, it has little to do with Bobbi..."

Coincidentally, when Sheldon had his accident, George happened to be in the house drinking beer. Afterward, he immediately asked his two sons about the situation at the time.

Incidentally, the scrape on Sheldon's knee was also treated by him.

Knowing that his youngest son only had a minor scrape, George still treated it as children's roughhousing.

After all, George had seen many more injured people on the football field; a scrape like Sheldon's, if not treated quickly, might even heal on its own.

So, George, not wanting to blow things out of proportion, continued to persuade, "Mary, your emotions are too high right now. Going to Herschel's family in your current state will only make things worse."

"Then what do you suggest?" Mary looked at her husband with a hint of dissatisfaction.

In her heart, as Sheldon's father, George should have firmly stood up for him when his son was bullied.

"How about this, when I have time, I'll go talk to Herschel." George eased the atmosphere, then smiled and said, "Dinner is ready, don't let this matter spoil everyone's appetite."

Because George hadn't found a job yet, he had recently started taking on a portion of the housework.

Mary, looking at her husband's back as he went to the kitchen, shook her head slightly, her face full of disappointment.

And during the subsequent dinner, the family's dining atmosphere became very heavy due to Mary's grim expression.

However, Mary's bad mood did not end there.

The next day at noon, when Mary returned home from work at the church, she was still worried about her youngest son's safety.

Because she was so worried, images of Sheldon being bullied by Bobbi kept flashing through her mind.

Finally, under this mental pressure, Mary couldn't wait for her husband to handle the matter. She took a bottle of ketchup from the cupboard and left the house in a huff.

After some searching, Mary arrived at the Bowling alley, carrying the ketchup.

Herschel's wife, Brenda, worked at this Bowling alley.

"Mary, why are you here?" Connie, who was spending her leisure time in the Bowling alley, saw Mary.

"Nothing." Mary hid the ketchup in her sleeve, then asked, "Where's Brenda?"

"Just up ahead, the first counter along the way." Connie pointed the way, then asked uncertainly, "What do you need Brenda for? Are you getting a bowling card?"

"Uh-huh—" Mary shrugged ambiguously, then walked towards the counter.

"She doesn't look like she's here to bowl..." Connie was surprised for a moment, then quietly followed her daughter.

Because she often spent time there, Connie actually had a good relationship with Brenda, who worked at the Bowling alley.

She didn't want to see her daughter get into a conflict with Brenda here.

And Mary, walking along the path to the service counter, immediately saw Brenda working.

Enemies meeting made Mary's eyes red with anger; she aggressively pushed through the crowd and came to the first counter.

"Is there anything I can help you with, Mary?" Brenda asked with a professional smile.

"Stop pretending." Mary stared fiercely at her and said, "Your little daughter Bobbi injured our Shelly; you must give an explanation."

"What, Bobbi injured Sheldon? Where..." Brenda, who didn't know what had happened yet, showed a look of surprise.

"Heh, still pretending—" Mary sneered and was about to continue arguing with her.

Seeing that the conflict was about to escalate, Connie quickly pushed through the crowd and came to the counter.

"Calm down, Mary, this is Brenda's workplace." Connie first appeased her daughter.

Because of Mary's commotion, all the customers at the first counter had moved aside. Instead, a large crowd of onlookers gathered not far away.

If this situation continued, it would definitely affect Brenda's work, and she might even be fired.

After holding her daughter back, Connie smiled apologetically at Brenda, then explained the cause and course of the incident to her.

Subsequently, Connie also stated that Sheldon's injury was not serious at all.

Brenda, having heard the whole story, relaxed her expression. Then, looking at the customers disturbed by Mary, she asked, "You're making a scene with me over such a small matter?"

In the competitive job market of Medford Town, Mary disturbing her work over a minor children's squabble made Brenda feel she was making a mountain out of a molehill.

"This is not a small matter—"

Concerning Sheldon's safety, it was not a small matter for Mary. Seeing Brenda's lack of seriousness about the issue, she shouted, "You must apologize and promise that Bobbi will never go near Shelly again!"

In Mary's opinion, this request was not excessive.

"You come to my workplace and make a scene, and you still want me to apologize to you?" Brenda saw more and more onlookers gathering and said somewhat displeased, "What if I say no?"

At this, Brenda's attitude truly angered Mary.

"Your whole family really isn't good people, especially Bobbi; you can tell from a young age she's a bad seed—" Mary, in a fit of rage, started throwing a tantrum regardless of the consequences.

Connie, standing by, couldn't stop her.

"What? Bobbi is a bad seed? I think your Sheldon is the weird one..." Brenda, seeing the other party speaking ill of her adorable daughter, was instantly enraged and began to enumerate the faults of the other party's little son.

Concerning their children, the quarrel between the two mothers instantly escalated, and the scene became increasingly chaotic.

Finally, Mary, whose anger crossed the line of reason, pulled out the ketchup hidden in her sleeve and frantically splashed it onto the counter.

Brenda, drenched in ketchup, not to be outdone, found a can of whipped cream used for desserts on the counter.

Thus, the battle between the two mothers turned from arguing into splashing condiments at each other.

After a round of fighting, both of them were incredibly disheveled.

Of course, the unluckiest one had to be Connie; she had intended to mediate but was splashed with ketchup and whipped cream by the two irrational women.
