….

'How exactly do I explain this?'

I stared at the bathroom mirror, gripping the edges of the sink. Just last week, I was a perfectly normal student.

Maybe slightly above average if I flexed, but now?

I looked like a guy who trained professionally for a combat sport.

The Heavy Armor and One-Handed grinds in Skyrim had packed dense, functional muscle onto my frame.

I felt ridiculously powerful, like I could punch a hole right through the tiled wall without breaking a sweat.

A sudden fit of giggles broke my train of thought.

I flinched and looked toward the open bathroom door. A group of girls from the parallel class was standing right there in the hallway, peeking in.

Their eyes were wide, a few of them pointing and whispering to each other with flushed faces.

Seriously? This is the men's room!

My face burned. I quickly grabbed my too-tight school shirt and pulled it back on, struggling slightly with the buttons.

"Can I please have a little privacy here?" I asked, trying to sound firm but mostly just sounding exasperated.

A couple of them squeaked and hurried off, but two actually lingered, openly staring until a male teacher happened to walk by.

He clapped his hands, threatening them with detention if they didn't get to class. I gave the teacher a quick, thankful nod and bolted before things got any more awkward.

Walking into homeroom felt like stepping under a spotlight.

The moment I slid the door open, the atmosphere shifted. My classmates were definitely glancing my way more than usual.

Some of the guys looked confused, while a few girls were whispering behind their hands.

Even the "Devils", the school's Occult Research Club members, were reacting.

Kiba looked mildly surprised, Koneko was staring blankly at her desk, but Akeno... she just rested her cheek on her hand and gave me this calm, knowing smile that sent a weird shiver down my spine. It felt entirely too intriguing.

I took my seat in the back and tried to ignore the stares. While the teacher droned on about history, I decided not to waste time.

I figured out I could trigger my new ** skill just by sitting still, regulating my breathing, and keeping my posture straight.

Once my mana regeneration spiked, I started secretly practicing.

I started with **. Normally, the spell creates a visible, glowing magical shield meant to block spells, which would be extremely obvious in the middle of a classroom.

So, I experimented. I focused all the mana strictly into the palm of my left hand under the desk, compressing the ward down to the size of a coin. It felt like holding a vibrating battery.

After an hour of mental gymnastics, a system notification chimed in my head: Restoration increased by 6 levels.

Next, I moved on to Alteration. I channeled ** just beneath my skin, hardening my tissue without letting the magic emit any light.

By the time the lunch bell rang, Alteration had also jumped 6 levels, and I unlocked a neat little perk: my Oakflesh spell would now last up to two minutes longer.

Finally, break time. I just wanted to eat my lunch in peace, but the moment the teacher left, my desk was surrounded.

Guys from the martial arts clubs, along with a few curious girls, completely swarmed me. "Dude, what kind of protein are you taking?" "Shiro, did you start lifting over the weekend?"

I spent the next ten minutes nervously laughing, making up some garbage excuse about a new, super-intense home workout routine. When they finally bought it and backed off, I let out a massive sigh of relief.

I reached into my bag and pulled out my wrapped grilled cheese sandwich. Finally.

But before I could even take a bite, the room went dead silent.

I looked up. Rias Gremory, the crimson-haired idol of the school, was walking straight toward my desk with her boxed lunch in her hands.

My mind flatlined. Why now? Why me? I screamed internally. But with the entire class staring at us like we were a live soap opera, I couldn't exactly tell her to get lost.

She stopped at my desk, giving me a polite, almost expectant look. I just gave a stiff nod. Without a word, she gracefully pulled up a chair, sat down right next to me, and calmly opened her lunch.

The whispers erupted immediately. The sheer killing intent radiating from the guys in the room was suffocating.

"Man..." one of the boys muttered from the back row, gripping his desk in pure jealousy. "What I wouldn't give to be in his spot right now..."

"It makes sense! They're probably the most attractive people in our class!" one of the guys from the back row whisper-yelled, sounding like he genuinely understood the tragedy of the situation.

"But that doesn't matter, because Rias's heart belongs to me!"

A few people turned their heads to stare at him in pity.

The girls, on the other hand, were brutal.

"You don't think she's dating him, do you? That bitch..."

"Not only is she the school idol, but she gets the newly hot guy? I wish I was Rias!"

I knew normal humans in this world couldn't use magic, but I swear I could see the sheer jealousy radiating from one of the girls practically forming a visible fireball aimed at the back of Rias's head.

Another underclassman peeking through the door actually started crying in the hallway, sobbing something about her 'Senpai.'

I felt a little bad for the chaos, but Rias didn't seem to care. She just ate her lunch with perfect, aristocratic grace.

She didn't try to strike up a conversation or pry into my life.

When the bell finally rang to signal the end of the break, she elegantly packed up her bento box, gave me a polite, "Thank you," and walked back to her seat.

I just sat there, bewildered. There were a million questions I wanted to ask her, but I pushed them aside.

I closed my eyes, slipping back into my meditative state to grind my mana regeneration until the final bell rang.

When school finally ended, I packed my bag. All I wanted was to head home, open an Instant Dungeon, and train.

But apparently, a certain crimson-haired devil didn't get the memo.

"So, where are we going?"
