They had been having fun for quite a while, not paying attention to what was happening around them. They played video games, snacked on food,danced,and told each other stories.
Karl spoke up,
"Guys, I think I should head home."
He opened the door—then suddenly stopped.
"Karl: …We came in through this door… so why does it lead nowhere?"
Megan frowned.
"What?"
The door opened onto nothing but a wall. Every other exit in the house was the same. The friends rushed to open every door and window, but there was no way out.
Jordan muttered,
"Guys… what's going on?"
Karl added,
"Does this kind of thing happen often?"
Lucie answered sarcastically,
"Oh yeah. Totally. Just the usual."
"Look at this," Stacy said.
She was pointing at the clock. It still read 5:42 PM.
Megan turned to Lucie.
"Didn't you say it was on time?"
Lucie replied, clearly unsettled,
"Yes… it is on time. Usually."
Karl interrupted them sharply,
"Girls! Forget the old useless clock for now. What matters is getting out of here."
Jordan crossed his arms.
"I'm telling you, it's probably just a joke."
Silence fell over the room.
Megan snapped,
"Are you serious? Who would do something like this?"
Jordan shrugged.
"Just wait. You'll see."
Stacy shook her head slowly.
"No… waiting won't change anything. Time isn't moving anymore.There's definitely somthing wrong here"
