Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: The Miracle Doctor

The VIP floor of Central City Hospital was under martial law.

Dozens of bodyguards in black suits stood guard, their expressions grim. Doctors and nurses were running in and out of the intensive care unit (ICU), sweating profusely.

Inside the ward.

"Dr. Wilson, is my grandfather..."

A young woman with red, swollen eyes grabbed the doctor's coat. She was Grace Su, the princess of the Su Family. Even in her despair, her beauty was breathtaking, like a fragile orchid in the rain.

Dr. Wilson, the top specialist from abroad, shook his head and sighed. "I'm sorry, Miss Su. Elder Su's heart failure is irreversible. Modern medicine can do nothing more. You should... prepare for the funeral."

"No!" Grace collapsed onto the floor, tears streaming down her face. "He can't die! I will give anything... half of the Su family's fortune... just to save him!"

The room was filled with a suffocating silence. The Su Family was powerful enough to shake the country, but they couldn't buy life from the Grim Reaper.

"Anything?"

Suddenly, a calm, magnetic voice broke the silence.

"That's a very expensive promise, Miss Su."

Everyone turned around in shock.

They saw a young man in a luxurious trench coat walking in. He didn't look like a doctor. He looked like a king inspecting his territory.

It was Victor.

"Victor Cheyne?" Grace recognized him. She frowned through her tears. "What are you doing here? This is a restricted area! Get out!"

The bodyguards immediately stepped forward to block him.

Victor ignored the guards. He glanced at the dying old man on the bed and the flatlining monitor.

"I can save him," Victor said lightly.

"What?!" Dr. Wilson was furious. "Mr. Cheyne, I know you are a rich businessman, but this is a hospital! Do not insult my profession. Even God cannot save this patient!"

"God can't," Victor smirked, rolling up his sleeves. "But I can."

"You..." Dr. Wilson wanted to curse, but Victor pushed him aside effortlessly.

"Get out of the way. You are blocking the light."

Victor walked to the bedside. He didn't use a stethoscope. He didn't look at the charts.

He took out a pouch from his pocket. Inside were nine glimmering silver needles.

This was the reward he had just claimed: The Nine-Heaven Resurrection Needle (The technique that was supposed to belong to Lin Feng).

"Are you crazy?!" Grace screamed. "You are going to stick needles in him? If you touch my grandfather, I will kill you!"

Victor stopped. He looked back at Grace, his eyes dark and intense.

"You have two choices, Miss Su."

"One, watch him die in the next 60 seconds."

"Two, shut up and let me work."

Victor's aura was terrifying. For a moment, Grace was stunned into silence. She saw absolute confidence in his eyes.

Swish! Swish! Swish!

Victor moved. His hands were a blur.

In the blink of an eye, nine silver needles were inserted into Elder Su's chest and head. Victor flicked the tails of the needles, sending a surge of "Qi" (Life Energy) into the old man's body.

The room was deadly silent. Everyone held their breath.

Dr. Wilson sneered. "Voodoo magic. It's useless..."

Beep... Beep... Beep.

The heart rate monitor, which had been a flat line, suddenly jumped.

The rhythm became stronger. The pale face of the old man started to regain color.

"Oh my god..." A nurse gasped. "Heart rate is stabilizing! Blood pressure is rising to normal levels!"

"Impossible!" Dr. Wilson's jaw dropped to the floor. "This... this is a medical miracle!"

Five minutes later.

Elder Su opened his eyes. He took a deep breath, looking confused. "Where... am I? I feel... hungry."

"Grandpa!" Grace cried out, rushing to the bed.

Victor stood aside, wiping his hands with a silk handkerchief. He looked calm, as if he had just done something trivial, like tying a shoelace.

At this exact moment.

Bang!

The door of the ward was kicked open.

Lin Feng, covered in sweat and panting heavily, rushed in. He had run all the way here after sensing the "fate" calling him.

"Don't worry!" Lin Feng shouted heroically, holding a bag of cheap herbs. "I am here! I can save Elder Su! Don't let the quack doctors touch him!"

Lin Feng posed in the doorway, waiting for everyone to look at him with hope.

But the room was quiet.

Everyone looked at him like he was an idiot.

Grace turned around, wiping her tears. "Who are you? My grandfather is already awake. Why are you shouting?"

"Awake?" Lin Feng froze. "Impossible! Only I have the ancient cure..."

Then, he saw Victor.

Victor was standing by the window, smiling at him. It was the smile of a winner looking at a loser.

"You're late again, 'War God'," Victor chuckled. "Delivery drivers should use the back door."
