Chapter 8 - Watched by Vultures

The boy bleeding on the ground began breathing sharply for just a moment, as the two sets of memories began flooding in his brain, his three identities fighting for control until eventually the heavenly demon won.

"The heavens, they…those cowards used all their power, broke the rule of the heavens by interfering with the mortal realm and sent me to another world far away from them."

The heavenly demon came from another world and reincarnated into the body of a boy.

but his memories of his previous world laid dormant until this boy lived out his first life and then used a power to regress back in time to a specific moment in the past.

which shocked his past versions brain to the point which resulted in him regaining his memories of his past self as the heavenly demon.

He quickly forced himself conscious and began thinking of ways to survive his current predicament.

He decided first to avoid the place in which he would be caught by that necromancer, so he quickly got on his feet and dragged himself to a nearby tavern.

The feeling was agonizing, his bones trembled, his muscles ripped, his eyes bled as his entire body was dried and covered in the smell of iron and the feeling of unimaginable pain.

Each step took all his had until eventually he reached the tavern's front door of which he would kick open.

As he kicked open the door several people from inside quickly looked at the direction from where the loud sound came from.

There was a collective gasp as they saw the bloodied man, several men quickly went to the aid of this man holding him up including the bartender, an old woman with an eyepatch.

Until they saw the face of the one they were helping up.

The men and women in the entire tavern quickly gasped in shock as they saw his face, eyes far apart like a sloth's, nose like a pig's, and ears pointed like an elf's.

They in shock let him go from their arms right onto the floor on his knees.

"That…Thats a person,"

"Was he cursed by a black mage"

"Was his faced molded forcefully by a demons"

"Horrifying"

"Disgusting"

"A face not even a mother could love"

"Are you sure that's not a monster?"

"What's a monster doing here?"

"A shapeshifter perhaps?"

"According to my calculations, in theory it could be a half orc perhaps?"

"Uglier than an ogre, more vile looking than an orc, my god"

As the crowd began berating him as he was on his knees on the cold wooden floor bleeding out, he quickly began thinking of ways to keep himself alive.

"Whether it's the central plains or some other world, humans…humans never change" Values whispered.

It seems the people here haven't heard the rumors surrounding him yet, it was an unknown and small town after all.

'Concentrate, I don't have any black magic healing abilities or good enough mana control or reservoir in this life.'

As he concentrated, he did it so deeply that his perception of time felt as if it was slower, a true deep focus, or otherwise known as being in the zone. And within this deep concentration, he strategized on how to keep himself alive, all noise is deeply muffled as he thought.

'I need to circulate my qi but this world's energy isn't qi, and the pathways are different, but there are similarities.'

'Both energies have a core and pathways that connect to that core.'

'I just need to figure out how to utilize my knowledge of both mana and qi.'

'In order to stop the bleeding and slightly rejuvenate my body I need to use my energy, to stop the bleeding by either cauterizing it with a tiny flame spell or using a tourniquet.'

'then I need to use the rejuvenation technique I stole from the Tang sect, to give me enough energy to move into a bath'

'If i can replicate the way that qi works with mana then i can do it.'

'I need to remember how both qi and mana work and then combine the techniques of both.'

'I'm the heavenly demon of the central plains, the man who completely destroyed it and united it under my rule.

'I can do it.'
