For the past three days, I have ate healthy and trained regularly. On the first day, I practiced jabbing and strength training. On the second day, I enhanced my endurance and stamina. And today, the last day, is my rest day.
In order to win this fight, I had to know what kind of person Kanae was.
I have seen her fight for only a few times. But the only certain thing I know was that she likes to kick.
Having a small and fragile body, Kanae was inferior to strength than most of us. But, rhis didn't mean that she was weaker. In fact, she had the best agility than the rest of us.
And due to this, she uses her legs a lot.
While thinking about it, my PS5 started glowing vibrantly.
"Do you want to win?"
There it is again, the voice.
"Yes."
I respond.
There was no response, only my PS5 glowing. I reached onto it and opened it. There, I saw all the games I had.
Most of my games were dueling games. Tekken, Mortal Kombat, Super Smash Bros.
I was really into it, timing mechanisms and more.
I wasn't sure how this would help me win, but I played anyways. And before I knew it, it was 8PM.
I ate dinner, took a bath, and went to bed. Tomorrow, my battle with Kanae will start. And tomorrow, it's either miracle happens, or I'll get beaten up again.
Although, of course, I didn't expect to die.
"Call the medical team! Rei is in a fatal condition!"
I heard someone screaming. It was Kanae, calling for something.
Medical team? Why would they come? Is anyone dying?
Rei is in fatal condition? What?
One second ago, I was standing up and blocking her kicks. How could I have suffered this bad?
Was I really gonna die? There's no way, right?

The crowd was screaming. I could feel the hint of nervousness within me. I could die from the nervousness alone.
Of course, I had people supporting me too.

It was people from my class. Despite me losing a ton, they still kept supporting me. Of course, it was because of them I had able to make it this far as a class rep.
The moment the match started, Kanae started activating her footwork and moved towards me.
I panicked and started throwing punches at her. I messed up so bad because the next second, my hand was caught up in her arms and I was getting locked.
Her legs were locking me and my hand was gonna be broken. If this continues, It'll hurt a lot. And so, I tried to kick her sides. I caught her off guard which let me off, and when she was still standing, I grabbed her and slammed her to the ground.
Furious, she started to hit my pressure points. This was Kanae Adabana's skill, "Pressure on Pressure."
As if a robot, she'd hit every pressure point with speed and precision. "Pressure on Pressure" was a skill that even Takai feared. Because when someone is caught off guard, hitting pressure points become a major advantage.
As soon as she hit a few of my pressure points, my hand started to weaken and I couldn't hold her anymore.
I lost.
I looked at Kanae in the eye and realized something.
Her eyes were in fire. It was red, scorching with furiousness and rage.
"How dare you touch me."
That was the last thing I heard before she started kicking me.

That skill is annoying, I could barely move my arms. However, it was not as if I didn't have any skill as well.
Contradictly, my skill was a good match against Kanae who wants speed over damage. If she wanted to make this a fast match, I'd make it longer.
[Skill, "Will of Defeat" is activated!]
"Will of Defeat", a skill known to be wielded by losers and defects. I had mastered this skill, because most of my life, I had been a defect.
This skill grants the user an innumerable amount of will to never give up. Through countless defeats, I had learned to never give up.
Although, everyone on the arena was thinking of one thing.
"Rei... that bastard!"
Even Kanae was surprised. This was because this skill, accumulated through years of defeat was...

This skill was useless.
It grants the will to never give up on its users, but the skill itself is the one who gives up.
So, without a doubt, this was very useless.
Kanae started kicking and I started blocking. I was doing good that for a moment I thought adrenaline was kicking into me.
I even landed a few hits on Kanae. She was shocked but then proceeded to kicking me again.
I caught her off guard and landed an uppercut. I was clearly on the upper hand now.
But suddenly, my vision started to blur. My legs weakened and I fell to the ground. The last thing I saw was Kanae's shocked expression.
[Skill, "Achilles' Heel" is activated!]
Achilles' Heel. This is a skill by Kanae that requires 80% of the users stamina. When you get hit by this, you'll automatically weaken and die.
The skill was like a sure one-shot kill. However, if skill usage ends without hitting a single target, the user will weaken and stats will be reduced by 80%.
It was a high risk high reward skill. Although, I didn't expect her to use it on me.
I slowly felt dizzy and I would only hear Kanae's voice calling for the medical team.

I woke up in an abyss-like place. Strange enough, there was a hint of light.
"Where am I? My head hurts. Grrhh."
I slowly stood up and headed straight for the light source visible.
As I took steps closer, the light became farther. What was happening?
Then, the light started making this strange feeling. Even though it was vibrantly bright, it felt... dark.
"What is going on?"
I asked and pondered. First of all, where was I? And second of all, what is happening?
Then, the faintest familiar voice started speaking.
-It's a paradox.
'It' said. I knew what this voice was, and asked.
"What are you?"
-Do you wish to know?
"Yes, please."
-Do you want to win, as well?
"Ardently."
-Then, I am someone who can help you, young man.
"Who are you?" I finally asked.
