My brow furrowed as I started to speak. "Ash, you really don't need to—"
"Keep quiet and let me handle this," he muttered, his voice barely audible. His eyes met mine briefly. "Don't turn this into something dramatic and she won't escalate it either."
We both moved toward Octavia's belongings. She had brought what looked like a dozen pieces of luggage, each one decorated in either wild cheetah patterns or vibrant blues and hot pinks. Every single case appeared stuffed beyond capacity and felt like it weighed at least fifty pounds. I silently appreciated all those training sessions Ash and Alaric had put me through.
With my old human abilities, I would have toppled over trying to lift just one of these monsters.
Ash, naturally, hoisted three suitcases as if they were made of air. We were preparing to head toward the dormitory buildings when Octavia's voice rang out once more.
