As grim as my situation appeared with four destined mates, I refused to surrender hope.
Perhaps it stemmed from the vampires growing bolder in their movements. Campus gossip had spread word of another assault on the neighboring village.
This attack had been different though. No survivors remained.
Or maybe my body's relentless craving was clouding my judgment. Whenever any of my four fated mates entered my vicinity, excluding Killian whom I avoided as deliberately as he avoided me, heat flooded my system. I shifted restlessly, unable to find comfort in their presence. During one morning basics session, I had nearly thrown myself at Ash.
The sensation of incompleteness plagued me constantly. Only in their collective company did I feel truly complete. Morning training sessions with Alaric had transformed into my daily highlight. Rather than dragging myself reluctantly from bed, I bounded awake and found myself racing toward their shared presence.
