Lyra's POV
The morning following my week of torturous nights turned out to be remarkably ordinary. Perhaps it was because Monday had arrived with its usual mundane energy. Or maybe it was the way the campus temperature had finally dropped enough for the season's first snowfall to dust the grounds in a delicate white veil. It could have been that I had simply ceased to be the center of attention.
Whatever the reason, the students around me seemed completely indifferent to my presence as Poppy and I made our way into the Basics classroom.
