Chapter 28 - Weird Teachers

"You had an amazing performance," a red-haired girl rushed towards him, grasping both of his hands as if he were a trophy to be held.

"Uh, thank you—"

"Brat, why are you a mage?" He couldn't even finish saying thanks because a gigantic hand grabbed onto his shoulder, it was the same man with the bulging veins.

The lady let go of his hand and took a step back whilst smiling ear to ear.

'Huh,' Klaus didn't even know how to respond when a gentle voice chimed in from behind the towering man.

"What if he's a mage, Torren?" The man named Torren turned around to face the lady, but he didn't seem too happy that she intervened.

"Eirlys, don't you interrupt me—"

"Or what?" The lady who stood next to Marcus spoke up, however, both she and Eirlys seemed different.

'One is an elf and the other is a cat girl…?' He couldn't exactly wrap his head around it as she looked at the cat lady who started arguing with Torren, her jaguar-like ears and tail whipped around like she was ready to pound Torren into the ground.

"Now, everyone sit," Marcus's voice enveloped the entire chamber as each of them obeyed one by one, leaving Klaus and Marcus the only ones standing.

Jen floated above his shoulders, watching the entire event unfold with a warm smile.

"We'll skip the introduction, eventually, you will meet all of the teachers present," Klaus was glad and let out a sigh of relief at Marcus's statement, which made a couple of the teachers groan in silence.

"First off, you probably are aware that you're special," he stroked his white beard whilst looking up and down at Klaus.

'Oh, you wouldn't even know the bottom of it,' he was special in multiple ways, one could say.

"Essentially, don't hold back." His statement made Klaus's eyebrows twitch.

"Sorry?" He couldn't help but ask back.

Jen also turned her head, not understanding what the headmaster meant, however, the teachers seemed to understand instantly.

"What I mean is," he stroked his beard once, "don't hold back your strength—"

"I wasn't planning to," Despite the situation, Klaus had his hands in his pockets, however, his interruption surprised most of the teachers, even the headmaster himself. "I want to be the strongest."

As soon as those words echoed in the room, Torren boomed out laughing heartily, "I hate mages, but this brat sure is funny!" Eirlys slapped him on the back of his neck, which just made him laugh even harder.

"You have enormous goals for sure," Marcus chuckled lightly and kept stroking his beard.

However, despite the sneaked dissing, Klaus didn't react, he just stood still.

"Can I go?"

His question seemed to shock the teachers and the headmaster himself, however, he just chuckled again.

"Do seek out the library first—"

"I have two teammates who I want to see first," Klaus already had made up his mind without any hesitation, he wanted to check on Nyra and Evaline first before checking out anything.

"I see, well then," The door opened behind them, none of the teachers seemed to make him stop, however, they all seemed surprised, it was evident on their faces. "You are free to go."

Headmaster Marcus smiled wholeheartedly, which made Klaus cringe a little bit, he hesitated for a second, thinking about what to do, but he just nodded and walked out without saying anything, Jen floating still above his shoulder.

'I didn't know if I should bow or something,' Jen chuckled innocently at his thoughts and just shook her head.

'Let's find them, hm?' He walked back to the students, some eyes turned, even heads, whispers echoed despite the joyous mood and feast that was taking place.

But Klaus didn't really care, all he was searching for was his teammates.

He felt a rough touch on his shoulder. "Hm? Evaline—" He turned, however, he didn't see the person he expected to see.

"It's been a while, brother."

Hearing those words, memories flooded Klaus's mind, making his eyes blur temporarily.

His older brother stood in front of him.

The same person that terrorised the previous him, beat him, humiliated him, just for the sake of his own pleasure.

'Friedrich…' The name jumped into his memories like he always knew it.

He shook his shoulder, shaking his hand off of himself, which made his brother chuckle.

"You don't seem too glad to see me," Friedrich chuckled to himself as he wiped his hand on a kid standing next to him, as if Klaus contained some deadly bacteria.

Klaus didn't answer, Jen didn't understand what was happening and who the person was. All he understood was that he was supposedly Klaus's brother.

"We didn't live together in the main estate in Seravine," his yellow eyes started shining like a sun, "so I never expected you to awaken as a mage, in fact…" he let out a laugh, making some heads turn in question.

"I never expected you to awaken at all!" He kept laughing like a crazy psycho despite all the eyes turning towards them. But Klaus just shook it off.

He didn't have any personal connection to the man in front of him, only the old Klaus did, not him.

"Okay," that was all he said before turning away, which made Friedrich let out a gasp.

"I'm talking to you, idiot," he tried to grab onto his shoulder to stop, however he was met with Jen.

"If you do make another move, I will light you on fire," her threat made many students turn, it even made Klaus stop.

"It's okay, Jen," he reassured with a small chuckle, "we won't bother ourselves with people weaker than us."

That sentence was like a final nail in a coffin, which should have made Friedrich explode out of rage.

However, he just laughed, "I look forward to what you can do, little brother." After that, he turned and walked away without another word.

Klaus shook his head without saying anything and turned to the onlookers one by one, making them avert their eyes.

'Why is everyone staring?'

"KLAUS!"

He heard a familiar scream coming from around fifteen students away, he instantly turned and saw the familiar girl running towards him.

"Evaline."
