Chapter 15 - At Raya's Flat

I met up with All Might at the agreed spot and handed him the documents. He assured me I'd get into UA. Of course, I didn't forget to thank him for his generosity.

After giving All Might the documents, I headed back home, taking the fastest route. I checked the time, it was a few minutes past five. A bit late for my plan, but I couldn't afford to mess this up.

I stopped by a boutique a few blocks from our house and bought a hoodie and a new pair of pants. I put on the hoodie right there and made my way home. When I arrived, I didn't go to our flat. Instead, I went straight to Raya's.

I pressed the doorbell a few times, but there was no response. I rang it again, I could clearly hear it going off inside, yet still nothing. Just as I was about to turn back, the door clicked open slightly, just a few inches. That was when I noticed the small security chain still latched.

Through the narrow gap, Mrs. Raya peeked out. I could only see her face, and she looked a little nervous. Then it hit me, of course she was nervous. She didn't recognize the person at her doorstep since I was wearing a hoodie.

I pulled off the hoodie and smiled. Almost instantly, Mrs. Raya's eyes widened.

"Jacob! I didn't realize it was you, I'm so sorry. I thought you weren't going to come again!" she said, her voice carrying surprise as she tried to act normal, though the excitement on her face gave her away.

She opened the door fully, and I stepped into her flat. The moment I entered the living room, I was impressed. The interior was extravagant yet minimalistic at the same time, styled like a Western home.

I sat on the couch while Mrs. Raya locked the door and walked back toward me. Now that I could see her clearly, she was wearing a tight grey camisole and jean shorts that showed off her smooth, porcelain skin. The outline of her nipples was faintly visible through the fabric.

To my right was a single armchair with a small table beside it, a laptop resting on top. She had probably been working before I arrived.

She stopped in front of me, a smile blooming across her face, her hands clasped together and resting near her waist.

"Would you like a cup of juice? I can also make something quick if you're hungry," Mrs. Raya offered.

"Aheh… I'd prefer a cup of juice," I replied. She nodded and headed down the passage leading to the kitchen. Soon after, she returned with a tray holding a glass of juice. There were neatly arranged fruit slices on top, giving it the appearance of a small cocktail.

After serving me, she picked up her laptop, sat beside me, put on her glasses, and began typing.

"So, how's work going? Still dealing with writer's block?" I asked softly, taking a sip of the juice.

"Well… yeah," Mrs. Raya answered, closing her laptop halfway as she responded, a small gesture of respect.

"I see… I was worried, so I shuffled my schedule and made sure to come as promised. By the way, what exactly are you struggling with?" I asked gently, handing her the small paper bag containing the gift I bought on my way.

"R-Really?! You rearranged your time just to see me? T-Thank you so much. And… isn't this gift a bit too expensive?!" Raya exclaimed as she peeked into the bag, her eyes widening.
