Master Daichi, please hurry up. I have no idea what these two are going to do, the girl at the counter thought to herself, worried the two boys might cause some kind of trouble. Meanwhile, back at the house, everyone had finished breakfast and was getting ready — Daichi was about to head out to the guild.
Shine put on his armor.
"I'll go bring that doctor today. Though I'm not sure if he'll even be able to cure her," Daichi said. There was a doctor in this town who had extensive knowledge of potions and illnesses — perhaps he had some kind of treatment for Nain's condition. But there was also a harsh truth here: Nain's state had been caused by a curse, and a curse could never simply be broken.
"Let's try and see. We have to at least keep trying," Shine said.
His voice comes out through the armor like some kind of robot — I only just noticed that. Anyway, he said we should try — maybe she really can get better, Jhed thought to himself.
Meanwhile, Preka was still sitting in her chair, refusing to let Silia get up. She kept touching Silia's cheeks over and over — she seemed to have genuinely lost her mind over it.
"You're so beautiful," Preka said, smiling.
"You've said that about a hundred times already." Silia was growing furious, her eyes turning red with rage, though she was managing to hold herself back and stay seated.
I can guarantee that when he finds out — that behind the beautiful face he's so obsessed with, there's a demon hiding — things will change, Jhed thought, watching them. Nain, by now, had wrapped herself entirely in cloth, covering her whole face.
"Well, I'll be heading out then," Daichi said, about to leave for the guild.
He was just about to step out when—
"Why don't we go meet Master Ro-Ro today and tell him everything right away? The sooner this happens, the better it'll be for the town." Shine said, stopping Daichi.
In all this, Shine had forgotten something — his own time here was drawing close. He would soon be taken back. Only Jhed knew this, and perhaps he wouldn't even tell anyone, since he'd already made up his mind — he was going to leave Shine behind.
"Really...? We could do that?" Daichi turned to look at Shine.
"Yes, we can. With the help of the teleportation card," Shine said.
"Yeah, that's a great idea. I've actually been wanting to use it for a while now anyway," Jhed said.
Silia, seizing the moment, slipped away from where she'd been sitting and came over to Jhed.
"Alright then, let's go now," she said quickly.
Thank god I got out of there. A little longer and I would've actually killed that woman, Silia thought to herself. That was exactly why she'd jumped at the chance to get away.
Silia pulled out the card. Since she was still technically its owner, she was the one who could actually activate it.
"Jhed, you still haven't taken that card back from her," Shine said, glaring at Jhed.
Jhed's eyes darted around, and he scratched the back of his head.
"Oh... I completely forgot. I'll take it back from her later," Jhed said with a sheepish smile.
"Nain, you—"
"No, all of you go ahead. I won't be coming." Nain said, her face still hidden behind the cloth.
"But Nain..."
"Shine, go on. I already told you before — I'm not going there." Nain said. Behind the fabric, the disappointment on her face stayed hidden from view.
But pushing her again and again wasn't right either, so they didn't press further. They moved on to deciding who exactly would be going.
