Chapter 2 - Chapter Two: Weightless Night

When the door closed, the outside world faded away.

They took off their shoes and stood by the bed.

Yike sat down, while Susu stood in front of him. For a moment, neither of them spoke.

He reached out and held her hand. His palm was warm—slightly tense.

Susu lowered her eyes, her thoughts in chaos. This is crazy. What if he's not who I think he is?But right now… I want him.

Her mind hesitated, but her body had already made its choice. She lifted her head and looked at him.

When she took off his glasses and placed them gently on the bedside table, it felt like a quiet decision.

She leaned down and kissed him. Soft. Careful. Uncertain.

Yike froze for a second, then wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her closer. Their breaths tangled. The air grew heavy.

They moved cautiously, as if afraid to break the moment. The city lights outside the window glowed silently.

At the closest point, he whispered by her ear."…Can I call you mine?"

Susu didn't understand at first. After a pause, his voice dropped even lower."Can you… call me yours?"

Her heart skipped. She suddenly wanted to be held. Wanted reassurance. Wanted to feel alive.

"Yours," she whispered. "Hold me, please."

He stiffened, then embraced her tightly."Mine."

That night, nothing felt ordinary.

Susu had never slept well in unfamiliar places. But with his heartbeat beneath her cheek, she fell asleep—deeply.

For the first time in a long while, she allowed herself to stop being afraid of tomorrow.
