Chapter 81 - Chapter 81: Using His Own Way X To Return It To Him

Time passed second by second.

When that strange sensation came again from inside his body, Kisho felt that the time was almost right.

Those researchers had already returned to the laboratory.

He slowly took a breath, his brows knitting little by little.

He uneasily adjusted his sitting posture, deliberately deepening his breathing.

As for his current state, Sains was extremely satisfied.

He stared at Kisho and sneered mockingly:

"What's wrong? Weren't you pretty cocky just now?"

Kisho made no movement at all.

Just acting, right… it wasn't his first time anyway.

"Heh, now the real show is about to begin."

As Sains spoke, he pressed a button on the instrument in front of him.

With a "bang," the cage directly facing Kisho sprang open.

And the monster inside, long eager to enjoy its feast, drooling, charged toward Kisho without any hesitation.

Kisho closed his eyes, and when he opened them again, they were no longer gray-blue.

"Roar…"

The monster's movement stopped.

A look of hesitation appeared on its face.

This situation caused the researchers outside the glass wall to cry out uncontrollably.

In all their previous experiments, they had never seen anything like this.

In their countless studies, these monsters had no reason, felt no pain, seemed to be born without the emotion called "fear," and could even be said not to fear death.

But now, something even more terrifying than death had appeared before these things.

Sains stared at everything before him, extreme excitement surging in his eyes, to the point that his pupils seemed to burn blood-red.

He gazed at Kisho's silver-blue pupils that seemed to glow even in the darkness, so excited that every hair on his body trembled.

The boy sitting on the ground merely met the monster's gaze with those silver-blue eyes, and the monster that had been unstoppable just moments ago halted hesitantly.

Originally wanting the monster to teach this brat a lesson, he immediately changed his mind:

"Quick! Take that little brat out! I want his blood for more research!"

Sains shouted loudly.

"But, if he can still move—"

"Impossible. You've all seen how test subjects behave when the aftereffects of the raw liquid kick in."

Sains thought for a moment, then nodded slightly:

"However, to be safe, it wouldn't hurt to check."

He turned to look at one of the researchers:

"Check his arm. Be careful, don't hurt him."

His eyes narrowed, the way he looked at Kisho like he was some exquisite delicacy, unwilling to waste even a bit:

"The blood of a test subject is very precious."

"Yes."

The researcher began operating the mechanical arm. Kisho calmly watched as the mechanical arm approached him, still not moving at all.

With a ripping sound, the blade on the mechanical arm sliced open Kisho's sleeve, revealing a red line of blood on his arm.

Kisho remained completely motionless.

"It really looks like there's no problem. Even so, this kid didn't manage to move at all."

Sains gave the order:

"Bring him out!"

On Kisho's face, twisted with pain, a cold smile appeared.

The mechanical arm hooked his collar, lifted him out of the glass room through a passage in the ceiling, then slowly lowered him from above and placed him onto the experimental table.

At that moment, everyone's gaze in the room converged on him, and they all walked toward him.

He sat quietly on the experimental table, looking exactly like a lamb awaiting slaughter.

"Should we draw blood from the test subject?"

A researcher took out a syringe from the cabinet and asked in a low voice.

"I'll do it myself."

As Sains spoke, he took the syringe from the researcher's hand.

Step by step, he approached the precious test subject on the experimental table, his face filled with an almost pilgrim-like expression.

He stopped in front of Kisho, met the gaze of the silver-blue-eyed boy, and then revealed a faint smile.

Holding the syringe between two fingers, he stabbed it fiercely into Kisho's arm—

That smile slowly disappeared after he realized what had happened.

Only then did he hear the continuous sounds of bodies colliding with the ground.

"Bang bang bang."

"Bang."

When he came back to his senses and looked around, all the students-cum-subordinates who had come closer to observe the test subject were lying on the ground.

Dark liquid flowed from their bodies, caught by their protective suits, staining the originally snow-white suits a deep color.

Killed in a single strike.

His pupils shrank to the extreme.

Because the culprit behind everything was standing right in front of him.

The boy looked at him sideways, smiling coldly.

The weapon in his hand was dripping thick blood incessantly.

Sains stared at the boy before him, murmuring, unable to even finish a sentence.

"You… you really…"

"Mon…ster…"

He had used the word "monster" more than once to express his contempt for the test subjects.

But only at this moment did he truly feel the soul-deep terror that a "monster" could bring.

"Is doing experiments fun?"

Kisho tilted his head and asked with a slight smile, like a mischievous student consulting a teacher.

However, before the "researcher" could answer, he had already disappeared from where he stood.

With a loud "clang," Sains was grabbed by the collar and thrown in front of the cold storage cabinet.

"What are you doing… what are you doing?!"

Sains, dizzy from the fall, didn't even have time to get angry before crying out in terror.

He no longer had any trace of his lofty demeanor. His eyes were filled with nothing but fear—

Because the test subject in his sight was taking a syringe out of the cold storage cabinet.

The boy stared at the blood-red liquid in the syringe, curled his lips into a smile, and said:

"This is the raw liquid, right?"

Sains: "…"

"You all say this is good stuff. Then good stuff should be shared by everyone, shouldn't it?"

He bent down and plunged the syringe into Sains's body.

"Ah!!"

Sains let out a piercing scream.

His body began to convulse and tremble, beads of cold sweat pouring out all over him, unable to tell whether the raw liquid was taking effect or if he was simply scared out of his wits.

Kisho casually tossed the now-empty syringe to the ground and observed Sains's expression.

"Okay, the experiment's done. Let's wait and see the results."

He hooked a swivel chair with his foot, sat down carelessly, and quietly waited for Sains's reaction.

It was as if he were muttering to himself, or deliberately speaking for someone else to hear:

"If the addiction from this thing wants to ease, besides constantly quenching thirst with poison, there should be an inhibitor that can solve it once and for all."

...

"Aaah… aaah…"

After only a little more than ten minutes, the highly purified raw liquid began to take effect inside Sains's body.

Tears and snot uncontrollably smeared his face. He couldn't even feel fear anymore, only staring at the cold storage cabinet as he crawled forward inch by inch.

He stretched out his hand, trying to take something out of the freezer.

Kisho stared at him.

"What are you looking for?"

"Aaah… aaah… give me… give me…"

His words came out brokenly. From the pain wracking his body, even his pupils were on the verge of dilating.

He crawled to the cold storage cabinet and stretched out his hand—

With a "bang," Kisho lifted his foot and kicked him back.

He looked at Sains coldly and smiled.

His voice was cruel and merciless, like that of a demon:

"If you can still move, it means you're not in serious trouble yet. Then let's wait a little longer."
