Chapter 20 - Chapter Twenty: The Titan Within

Time moves differently when you're no longer fully human.

I've noticed it more and more. My reflection barely ages, skin still soft, hair still thick, eyes still vibrant. Even my reflexes remain sharp, my strength subtly enhanced.

It's not magic alone.

It's the blood.

Titan blood. Pure, powerful, ancient. And yet… limited.

I think about it scientifically, as I always do. In my current state, I'm a hybrid. Human and Titan, fused at the cellular level. My heart pumps Titan essence through my veins. My muscles respond more efficiently. My bones—tested carefully, never to break—have started reinforcing themselves. My cells repair with a speed and precision no human could achieve.

But I'm still human enough. My appearance hasn't faded. My voice hasn't deepened unnaturally. My emotions, my thought patterns—they remain recognizable. For now, at least.

The Titan blood is still integrating, slowly rewriting me. My mind feels sharper, my instincts more precise, and my magic… oh, my magic. It's no longer just responsive—it's anticipatory. Glyphs react to me as though I am their source, not just their caster. Combinations that once required careful planning now flow naturally from intention alone.

Yet, the remaining pure Titan blood is scarce.

The vial is nearly empty. Enough to fill 20 percent of a test tube. A single, precious resource. Every drop is a universe, every fraction a potential breakthrough. The rest of my experiments now rely on my own hybridized blood. Less potent than the pure form, but still enough to fuel research, glyph innovation, and incremental integration.

I note it carefully in my journal.

"Hybridization is incomplete. Potential for further enhancement exists, but pure Titan blood is insufficient for full integration. Current self-blood sufficient for experimentation. Human form likely to persist indefinitely; Titan physical potential will continue to increase."

It's thrilling. Terrifying. Exhilarating.

I am no longer fully human. Not yet fully Titan. Something in between. Something new.

And I have no intention of stopping this evolution.

Because in a world of ancient beings, ruthless witches, and destructive gods, being part Titan might just be the only way to survive—and thrive.
