"Cecilia…" Linden Nathan walked up to Cecilia Nathan. He was about to ask if she was okay when his eyes darted and saw Damian Hawthorne approaching. The words caught in his throat.
Linden Nathan gave his daughter a worried look and subconsciously took a step back.
He knew Cecilia didn't want Damian to know her identity.
"Are you okay?" Damian strode up to Cecilia, grabbing her arm and instinctively looking her up and down.
Cecilia slowly shook her head, her gaze shifting to Sharon Quincy on the ground. Her voice was flat. "I'm not the one who's hurt."
Seeing Sharon Quincy on the ground, Damian's expression was blank. His eyes were as cold as if he were looking at a complete stranger.
"Don't worry, she won't die."
Damian couldn't shake the feeling that Sharon's earlier words had been strange, almost as if she knew something was going to happen to Cecilia.
Too many coincidences weren't just a coincidence anymore.
