The wind blows softly upon the battlefield.
Light rain clears the stench of blood and death, as if washing away all the sorrow and misfortune clouding the place.
At the center of it all, only two figures stand tall.
Both young men, but with entirely contrasting appearances. While one stands radiant and confident, the other only grimly looks down, bound by glowing chains that bore a stark contrast to his dark appearance. One rises, the other falls. Two sides of the same coin.
But this ends it all.
"I hate how things had to go this way," the radiant man said, with a drop of sadness in his expression, "It's… It's just that… none of us could help it, really. I-I mean, it's orders from above, above, once it happens, there is just…"
"Stop, I understand your point," I called him out.
"It's just– Ah, dammit. What I really wanted to say is that I'm sorry, truly. Sorry for my– no, our helplessness against it," he sobbed, "I just wished that we could both lead our lives as we wanted, without all this conflict that for us here feels completely senseless, pointing blades at old friends."
"So, what now?" I asked, "You kill me and finish this once and for all, there's no reason to prolong this further. Everything feels pointless now."
"I– no!" he exclaimed, "Actually, the order was to seal you, not kill. With those things."
He pointed at the large, black, and perfectly cubical stones that I had wondered the reason for being brought here.
"They are also from above, and it should keep the seal indefinitely, or at long enough for them, however long it may be. I will begin it now. Farewell, Ronan. I wish the circumstances had been different."
And thus, the world faded to black.
