Rex Pov
I stood outside Urdon's office door, trying to muster the courage to knock. I had been standing there for five minutes already. Just staring at the door and trying to figure out what to say.
"You need to do this," I told myself. "You need to face him and apologize properly."
I raised my hand and knocked three times. Firm and clear.
"Come in," Urdon's voice called from inside.
I opened the door and walked in. Urdon was sitting at his desk, going through papers. When he saw me, he immediately stood up and came around the desk.
"Rex," he said. "I am glad you came. I wanted to talk to you."
"I wanted to talk to you, too," I said. My voice was shaky. "Alpha, I need to apologize for everything."
"Stop," Urdon said. He held up his hand. "Just stop right there."
I fell silent and waited. My heart was pounding. I did not know what he was going to say.
