I woke up to Yolande humming in my head. It was a cheerful tune. Happy and light, like she was in a wonderful mood. That terrified me more than anything else.
"What are you so happy about?" I asked silently.
"Today is a special day," Yolande said. "Today, the Luna comes to me. Today everything starts falling into place."
"What are you talking about?" I said. "What Luna. What is falling into place?"
"You will see soon enough," Yolande said. "Now get up. We have work to do."
"I am not going anywhere," I said. "I am staying in this room where I cannot hurt anyone."
"You really think you have a choice?" Yolande said and laughed.
My body stood up without my permission. My legs walked to the door and opened it. I tried to stop moving, but I had no control at all.
"Stop this," I begged. "Please just let me stay here."
"No," Yolande said simply. "We are going to the forest. The Luna is there waiting, and we need to greet her properly."
