Chapter 103 - Chapter 102: The Conspiracy Revealed

Read my new story (ilham20)

Hogwarts : Black family bloodline...

Hogwarts, my partner is Tom…

Hogwarts : He Starts by Deconstructing Avada Kedavra...

Rafal, who viewed Sophie as his forbidden prize, his eternal bride, froze. "..."

He almost screamed internally, "Hell no! You can't! You absolutely cannot do that!"

But he swallowed his grief, gritted his teeth, and said, "Allowed."

"Not allowed!" Beatrice stood up abruptly. "Arthur—no, Basil is mine! How can 'Hopeless' be with 'Forever'?"

Other students who had been eyeing Basil also voiced their protests.

Tedros spoke up, "That is Father's freedom. Besides, Sophie was sorted into the wrong house."

But his voice was drowned out by the noise.

Many Evil students who secretly lusted after Basil but wouldn't admit it were also jeering.

Basil, however, smelled the scent of joy on Rafal.

Rafal was indeed happy. Because everyone was on his side.

For a split second, he didn't even want to destroy the school anymore.

But he cut those thoughts off, including the urge to retract his statement to go along with the crowd.

Instead, he spoke firmly, "We cannot let a good person suffer injustice. Sophie living in the dark, miserable School for Evil is bad enough. I cannot deprive her, a 'Forever' girl, of the right to date a 'Forever' boy."

He smiled slightly. "Besides, that is King Arthur. If I were younger, even I would want a date with him."

"Goodnight, everyone."

He briskly walked out of the Great Hall and vanished.

Professor Dovey frowned, but she didn't suspect the School Master.

King Arthur was indeed charming; who wouldn't want to date him?

The School Master hadn't intentionally put a target on Sophie's back. She just thought that after losing Rafal and the balance of Good and Evil, the aging School Master had become a bit of an eccentric old man.

She was just worried that Sophie would be bullied in the School for Evil because of this, and eventually be driven into Rafal's arms.

So, after the other students had left the hall, she whispered to Lesso beside her, "Can you look after my student, Sophie? Don't let her—"

Professor Lesso tossed her explosion of red hair. "She is my student! I will toughen her up. Have you forgotten? I was once a Reader too. I also came from Gavaldon."

Professor Dovey smiled, understanding Lesso's implication.

Over the years, their relationship was more like friends, though neither would admit it. Dovey because of the rules forbidding Good and Evil to mix; Lesso because she was a tsundere.

Meanwhile, Basil just wanted to throw up every time he recalled the fake, sugary smile Rafal gave before leaving.

Even Beatrice's soft, fragrant hands wandering all over him couldn't distract him from the disgust.

That son of a btch! He's just trying to gross me out, isn't he?

Even though Basil wasn't actually King Arthur, when Rafal said that, how was it any different from saying he wanted to date Basil?

Sophie was equally furious. She angrily vented everything in the group chat, attaching a memory image of Rafal.

Interestingly, none of them were surprised that Basil was considered King Arthur. He had mentioned before that Excalibur resonated with him, likely due to the Red Dragon bloodline from the Harry Potter version of Arthur.

So, they were more focused on Rafal's appearance and orientation.

Madison: "That guy sets off my gaydar instantly! Haha! Country Girl, in the original plot, did you get tricked into bed by a gay guy?"

Sophie: "This movie is a teen flick; there's only kissing. Basil said so. You, on the other hand... coming from Hollywood, you know the drill with American TV shows. Constant hookups, messy relationships."

Madison: "I really regret wasting my time explaining the modern world to you."

Sophie: "Me too. Anyway, the ceremony is over. I'm heading to the dorms. Just my luck—didn't Rafal just put a huge target on my back?"

Basil: "Obviously. Except for that guy Hort, everyone else was looking at you like they wanted to kill you."

Sophie: "Captain Hook's son? Ugh. If he stopped looking like a loser, I might be willing to be friends."

Sophie: "It really sucks. Now they all look like they want to tear me to shreds."

Sophie: "Especially that dark-haired witch with the thick hair on my left. Is she the dragon tattoo witch you mentioned when you spoiled the plot? I bet given the chance, she'd kill me for sure."

Sophie: "Good thing I'm not like in the original plot where I can't use magic and have to rely on fistfights."

Madison: "Aha! Is the Country Girl about to get bullied?"

With Basil, a fellow club leader, now present, Madison stopped hiding her terrible personality. She began to mercilessly tease Sophie.

Basil: "The people in the Evil house aren't that bad. Fairytale evil is nowhere near as cruel as real-world evil."

Basil: "You guessed right. The witch who can animate her tattoos and summon a dragon is her. Her name is Hester."

Basil: "In the original plot, even when you insulted her mother, she didn't actually hurt you. She talked about killing you, but all she did was try to cut your hair in a fit of rage."

Sophie: "I'd rather she killed me! So, what happened?"

Basil: "You beat her. With your fists. After slapping her a few times, you grabbed her hair and called her an ugly hag."

Madison: "As expected of the Country Girl, you've got manual labor strength. No wonder your mom wanted you to work in a factory; you're built for it!"

Madison: "I'm starting to suspect Basil lied to save your dignity. You were born for the School for Evil. Rafal didn't make a mistake."

Sophie: "Is that it? She didn't use magic?"

She ignored Madison's nonsense.

Basil: "Because you couldn't use magic back then. But I'll give you some tips now. The dragon Hester summons isn't big—about the size of an eagle. You can swat it with a frying pan."

Basil: "Like playing baseball?"

Basil: "You're good with a frying pan. You used one to threaten the people who wanted to kill Agatha."

Basil: "In the original plot, you used it to gain the upper hand against the tattoo dragon."

Basil: "Because Hester takes shared damage with the dragon."

Basil: "If the dragon hadn't breathed fire and made you panic, you probably would have won with just the pan."

(Madison: "Just give up on magic and stick to the pan, Paladin of the Skillet.")

Basil: "Also, Hester is the daughter of a real witch. Her spit creates sparks when it hits the ground. Be careful she doesn't spit in your face during a fight. Watch your eyes."

Sophie: "Anything else?"

Basil: "That's it. Right now, you're the only student who can use Finger Glow. She's not a 'Reader' like us; she's a local of the fairytale kingdom. She won't suddenly awaken new powers just because of emotional spikes."

Madison: "This school gives out free talents? Holy sht! I called my school, and they only teach us how to hide our gifts in the real world."

Basil: "Actually, that's only in the beginning. Once Zoe enrolls and the Supreme Witch Fiona returns, you guys will learn some interesting stuff."

Basil: "Plus, once the Club is fully established, maybe you can visit Sophie's world and awaken a new talent."

Sophie: "Alright, stop being jealous. You don't have a big bad villain like Rafal—the ancestor of magic, the embodiment of evil, and owner of the Storian that sees the future—messing with you."

Sophie: "And you have seven talents! Even if I awaken one more, that's only two."

Madison: "Thanks, Country Girl. That actually makes me feel better."

---

Basil hadn't returned to his dorm yet. He had just checked the room assignments. He was rooming with Tedros.

Right now, he was wandering the gardens with Beatrice.

The professors didn't stop them.

After Evil was expelled, the School for Good at night no longer had those terrifying security mechanisms: Cupid statues turning into demons, beautiful flowers growing fangs, trees craving flesh...

Currently, Basil was trying to gently reject Beatrice's advances while hesitating.

Should he tell Madison that her world wasn't as harmless as Sophie claimed? There was Satan, a high-tech cult worshipping him that could destroy the world, and an invincible, not-yet-evil Antichrist.

Sophie: "Basil, I just saw the room list. I'm in Room 66. Besides Hester, there are two other girls. Dot and Anadil. Do you know their deal? Given the way the villains around here are looking at me, I'm worried more than one person is going to give me trouble."

Madison: "Dot? Sounds like a dog's name. Daughter of the villain from 101 Dalmatians?"

Basil: "Anadil... I don't know much about her. She's an albino girl in the books, but here... anyway, her magic is telekinesis, similar to Madison's."

Basil: "Don't worry about her. She just likes to talk big and say bloody, scary things."

Basil: "But Dot... You'll definitely be surprised when you meet her."

Madison: "Professor Granger, I know this one! Her parents must be someone special."

Sophie: "Can I get a hint?"

Basil: "It's her father. Robert de Rainault."

Sophie: "Who?"

Madison: "Sounds familiar."

Basil: "The Sheriff of Nottingham."

Sophie: "Is he famous?"

Madison: "You really should have gone to the factory, little Sophie. Did you skip history class? You don't know Robin Hood's nemesis?"

Basil: "Right, from Robin Hood. Let me reiterate: you will be very surprised when you see Dot."

Basil: "Okay, Professor Dovey is here again. She seems to need me."

Madison: "Remember to hop online at 9 PM for club activities."

Sophie: "I'm heading to the dorm then."

The group chat paused.

Basil looked at Professor Dovey awkwardly.

Because Beatrice was being too bold, she had pulled his robe off, leaving his upper body bare. His pale, muscular chest now sported a few red lipstick marks.

But Beatrice kept kissing him, treating Professor Dovey like air.

Professor Dovey stared for a moment, then frowned. "Your Majesty, I don't know how things are done in Camelot, but if you truly wish to find Rafal and destroy him, you must hold fast to one thing. Wait... Blood Magic?"

With her epic-level buff, she noticed something wrong with Beatrice at close range.

She raised her golden wand. "Expel! In the name of the Dean of Good, I command you! Leave this girl's body!"

A flash of white light.

A wisp of barely visible red gas left Beatrice's body and evaporated.

Beatrice's glassy eyes began to clear. Her cheeks flushed crimson, and she didn't know what to say.

Finally, unable to resist pressing her cheek against Basil's chest one last time, she quickly lifted her skirt, curtsied in a farewell gesture, and stammered, "I... I'll be going now. Basil, see you tomorrow."

She hurried away into the night.

Basil frowned. "Rafal's doing? He thinks this is related to the thing I need to hold fast to?"

Professor Dovey nodded. "Yes. That thing is named Purity. The body you created is likely still a vessel of purity. The School for Good has a hidden, ironclad rule: Students who lose their purity—who engage in intercourse—are expelled."

"Rafal obviously wants to drive you out of the school by amplifying Beatrice's desires."

"He doesn't want you learning Finger Glow, finding him within the school, and destroying him for good."

Sht! That is seriously underhanded.

I finally make it to another world, become an adult, and I still have to be a virgin?

Rafal, you have chosen death!

Wait... I can enter the club as a consciousness. If my consciousness gets intimate with Madison, my body is still pure, right?

Basil pretended to be deep in thought.

Professor Dovey, thinking he was genuinely strategizing, asked after a moment, "Your Majesty? Your Majesty? Have you thought of a countermeasure?"

Basil: "I have. Astral form."

Professor Dovey was confused. "What?"

Basil: "I mean, if my consciousness isn't pure, that doesn't count, right?"

Professor Dovey laughed heartily. "Of course not. Otherwise, Your Majesty couldn't have entered the School for Good to begin with."

Basil flashed a brilliant smile.

---

Meanwhile, Sophie had met her roommates.

She discovered they were all bark and no bite.

She immediately typed in the club chat.

Sophie: "Unbelievable. Am I really in the School for Evil? Their tempers are surprisingly mild. But Robin Hood's nemesis's daughter is Black? Is this the surprise Basil was talking about? That's wild."

Madison: "You should be used to it by now. Obviously, the School for Good and Evil movie your world corresponds to is a masterpiece of modern casting choices."

Madison: "The Deans of both schools being Black is whatever. Experts say human civilization started in Africa anyway. Just like how our coven's magic came from Tituba, a Black slave."

Madison: "But the Sheriff of Nottingham? Fairytale princes being Black? That's just bizarre. They say it's for representation, but it feels more like lazy tokenism."

Madison: "It's like the Little Mermaid casting. Instead of creating a new story or adapting African folklore where a Black mermaid would make sense, they just race-swapped a Danish fairytale character. It feels jarring."

Madison: "On the other hand, fairytales and old texts are products of their time. They contain biases. Those biases are wrong, today and back then. But if we erase them and pretend they never existed by changing the source material, aren't we just white-washing history?"

Madison: "It makes me want to scream sometimes. It feels like Hollywood is just checking boxes rather than caring about the characters."

Madison: "If the Little Mermaid was Black in that specific historical setting, would she have become the Prince's maid? Or would she have been burned at the stake as a foreign witch?"
