Chapter 47 - Chapter 47: Meeting Dominic Again

"You've already found them?"

"Good, I'm heading over to your place now."

"Coincidentally, I've found some things on my end too. I was just about to head over and give them to you."

Dominic's efficiency was indeed much higher than Hunter had expected.

Although he had guessed it before.

Dominic had been in the West Coast underground racing scene for so many years that he likely had a network of contacts throughout Los Angeles and even all of California.

Investigating a Lockpicking company would definitely be easier for him than for Hunter.

But even so, he hadn't expected Dominic to be this efficient.

After hanging up, Hunter rode his bike straight to Dominic's residence.

He had originally planned to wait a few more days before giving Dominic the evidence proving Brian was an FBI Agent.

After all, following Hunter's warning, he felt that even if Dominic didn't fully believe him,

he probably wouldn't have any thoughts of continuing the robberies for the time being.

The FBI wouldn't be able to get evidence immediately.

Even if they wanted to arrest Dominic, their hands would be tied.

After all, there were quite a few agencies in the US keeping an eye on the FBI.

Soon, Hunter arrived at Dominic's residence again.

Just like last time, he carefully observed the surroundings.

Once he was sure there was nothing unusual, Hunter walked quickly to Dominic's front door.

Shortly after he knocked, Dominic opened the door.

Perhaps because of their previous cooperation, seeing the bald man again,

although he still had a cold expression when facing Hunter,

his gaze no longer held the previous aloofness and hostility.

"Come in!"

Dominic stepped aside, allowing Hunter to enter his home.

Hunter's current physical fitness was nearly twice that of a normal person.

His senses were sharper; in a wooden building with poor soundproofing like this, he could catch almost any subtle sound.

So as soon as Hunter entered the house, he quickly caught a very faint noise and a body scent distinct from a man's.

Clearly, a woman was hiding somewhere in the house.

"Want a beer?"

This time, Hunter was treated quite well.

Dominic opened the fridge and took out two cans of Budweiser.

"Thanks!"

Hunter didn't stand on ceremony either, taking a bottle and opening it for a swig.

"Here, the evidence you wanted."

He handed the manila envelope he brought to Dominic.

Hunter didn't need to point it out; what the other man wanted was inside.

Dominic didn't hesitate and opened the manila envelope directly.

Soon, his face, which people often suspected was paralyzed, visibly darkened.

Hunter even saw that when he reached a certain photo,

the hand Dominic used to hold the photo gripped it so hard that the veins on the back of his hand bulged.

The photo itself was crumpled by his excessive force.

"Thanks."

After a long while, Dominic tossed the manila envelope containing the photos onto the coffee table in the living room.

He stared at Hunter and thanked him solemnly.

Clearly, Dominic now fully believed his warning.

He was also certain that he was being watched by the FBI.

Dominic knew very well that he had led his team on hijackings everywhere for the past few years.

Once the FBI had their eyes on him, there was a risk of exposure sooner or later.

After all, Dominic knew exactly what his brothers were like.

Some loved to gamble, some were into drugs, and some were reckless, loving dangerous underground racing.

And all of these required money.

So, despite Dominic and his crew having operated on California's highways dozens of times over the past few years,

hijacking many trucks loaded with expensive electronics and earning at least tens of millions, if not hundreds of millions of dollars,

Dominic and his crew spent money lavishly, and even he didn't have much in savings.

Before, they felt they were well-prepared.

Their operational plans were very meticulous, and they shouldn't have been exposed.

Even Letty, the most level-headed among them, felt they should save some of the money.

After all, they were making a fortune from illegal means, and they couldn't do it forever.

But in the end, influenced by her boyfriend Dominic's confidence, Letty chose to do the same as everyone else.

The whole crew was used to spending lavishly.

So even though Dominic had already believed Hunter's warning,

he still needed to produce evidence to convince his brothers to stop.

In fact!

Dominic wasn't even sure if his brothers, long spoiled by that immense wealth,

would even be willing to quit!

After all, even now, knowing the FBI was watching him,

he still harbored a hope that Hunter's warning was false.

Clearly, even Dominic himself didn't want to give up the quick money from highway robberies.

Much less his brothers.

Hunter didn't know about Dominic's inner conflict.

But even if he did, he wouldn't care.

Realizing that the parallel world he had transmigrated into wasn't limited to the plot of fast & furious,

Hunter was no longer interested in joining Dominic's crew or becoming part of the Family Man's family.

The only reason he was still showing goodwill to Dominic was for Mia's sake.

He then said, "Dominic, I have other things to attend to."

"Can you give me the information on Slate Brief?"

Dominic looked at him, and after a brief silence, nodded and pulled a slip of paper from his pocket, handing it over.

Hunter quickly took it and opened it to look.

He saw that there was only an address written on the slip.

He looked up at Dominic, but the man didn't say anything more.

Seeing this, Hunter didn't ask further. He downed his beer and took his leave.

The moment he stepped out, he clearly felt a gaze on him.

It came from the second floor, but when Hunter instinctively looked over,

he only saw a figure vanish from a window on the second floor.

"Was it Mia?"

Hunter couldn't be sure. After pausing there for a moment,

he shook his head and left.

Letty walked into the living room after Hunter left.

She saw Dominic sitting on the sofa, drinking beer in silence, his expression extremely grim.

She immediately asked, "Dom, is it confirmed?"

Dominic didn't say a word, only pointing his finger at the kraft paper bag beside him.

Letty walked over quickly, and after just a few glances, her face also turned very ugly.

Among the photos Hunter brought was a shot of Brian wandering near Mia's cafe.

Coupled with the fact that he later entered the FBI's Los Angeles Field Office building, it was obvious he was an FBI spy.

In other words, Hunter's previous warning had been confirmed.

They had no choice but to seriously face the reality: they were being targeted by the FBI.

Next!

Should they stop, go into hiding for a while, and wait for the heat to die down?

Or should they move the goods from the last robbery as quickly as possible and then flee Los Angeles or even the United States?

Or perhaps, do something even crazier?

For a moment, both of them fell into deep thought!
