Chapter 16 - Prologue- Tunnell of Light

The darkness that swallowed you is thick and impregnable, absolute in it's nothingness that drags you everywhere yet nowhere at the same time, a force that is so nothing it contradicts even itself. The dark stagnant taste of the non-existent air. The smell of nothingness is ironically disgusting, the lack of proper breath makes you feel trapped and heavy. Like you're stuck in a boggy swamp that is pulling you in all directions.

Something solid connects with your foot, a crushing pressure forces the apendage onto the new obstruction, the space erupts into a tunnel of grey and white light, the previous darkness completely gone. The long spiral of the new tunnel is mesmerising and appalling, it smells of death and decay, like a corpse left too long in the blistering heat mixed with the salty scent of fresh blood in the winter.

The floor your standing on feels rough yet smooth, the whole space one big contradicting juxtaposition its existance is oxymoronic, like a dmart idiot thats weak but good at sports. A space of paradoxes that should only exist in heaven or hell, or whatever afterlife you believe. The nothingness fills the tunnel like water does a cup. Changing shapes to adapt.

A bright yellow light is at the end of tge corridor. Wait did I die? You ask yourself, eyes widening in both understanding and sudden fear before wrath takes over. Why did this have to happen when you finally got a girl worth keepin? A girl worth taking care of? A girl worth your life? That is what you want to know.

Why? Why? Why?

The wrath tints the world a bloody crimson, a ragefull, angry colour that stains the bright tunnel with blood like ominity. The space tilting as you collapse in an angry pile. Fists pummelling the floor with enough fury to kill ten thousand men, enough rage that makes the flood in the bible look like a river bursting its banks.

That is tge type of rage tgat is boiling withing your viens, flooding your system with anger and sorrow. Making a disturbingly small shiver run through your spine in an almost submissive anger, as if your body has accepted the reality while your mind tries to fight it in a futile and pathetic battle.

Eventually you get up, legs trembling, knees knocjing, chest heaving with shaky, uncertain emotion.

You glance up at the light at the end of the tunnel, deciding you might as well get it over with, get over your death, over your anger, and find out if you are going to heaven or hell. Eternal damnation- a world of pain, suffering and regret that all sorts of unsavoury characters go to untill they have paid for their crimes with their body's and mind. Eternal happiness- a world full of joy and life, of loyalty and honesty. The place where good individuals go once they die and the place you go once your 'redeamed' in eternal damnation.

You take a shaky step forwards as you think all this, one foot in front of the other, stumbling and staggering like a drunk after being kicked out or barred from their current favourite pub because they drank far too much.

Each step is heavy with regret, each small inch moved feels like a huge victory, as if you're only just learning how to walk. As if you've recovered from a major leg surgery and you're having you're first rehabilitation session. Thank God no one can see how pathetic I look right now. You think to yourself as you stumble precariously towards the bright light at the tunnels mouth.
