Chapter 23 - Killing Kingpin and Daredevil

"Let's welcome the renowned entrepreneur, famous philanthropist, New York City councilman, and New York City mayoral candidate, Mr. Wilson Grant Fisk. to deliver his speech."

A middle-aged man, broadly built with a powerful back and shoulders, wearing an expensive custom suit, walked steadily to the stage. His robust body was as dangerous as a wild beast, yet the smile on his face was incredibly warm.

"I speak on behalf of the citizens who deeply love this city. Every time I see Hell's Kitchen in such chaos, and the people living in it in such pain, my heart aches. I swear, I will build it up."

"To restore New York's glory is our inescapable duty!"

Lucas was starting to not want to kill Kingpin.

Not because his speech was passionate and infectious but because he was too dark.

From Lucas's energy perspective, Kingpin's soul was profoundly dark, with an aura of sin constantly overflowing. The evil of his soul was something Lucas had never seen before.

The Kingpin from the adjacent 1610 Universe was nothing compared to him.

Conservatively estimated, killing him would net him 443 Lifespan points. Keep in mind, an ordinary mafia boss only has 5 to 20 points.

'This is your last chance, Mr. Fisk, I hope you can seize it.'

Silently sighing, Lucas activated the Time Stone.

Kingpin's past unfolded one by one.

Killing his father when he was young, joining the mafia.

After becoming a gang leader, he committed arson and murder, even killing his wife to prove his path.

Lucas thought, 'Just kill him, but don't absorb his energy.'

His panel is still upgrading, unable to filter. To not affect his mood, it's best to let go of this energy.

Having made up his mind, Lucas no longer hesitated. An invisible energy quietly infiltrated Kingpin's brain.

'In front of everyone, let me make it dignified for you.'

Cooperating with his perception ability, he launched an attack.

Several arteries in the functional areas of Kingpin's brain were torn. Kingpin looked pained, and his massive body crashed to the ground.

"Mr. Fisk!"

"Mr. Fisk, what's wrong with you?"

"Ambulance, call an ambulance quickly!"

The scene descended into chaos, and Lucas quietly left.

Next up is Matt Murdock.

In the 404 Universe, Lucas was a client of Matt Murdock's law firm and a comrade-in-arms of Daredevil. In fact, Lucas's identification was handled by Matt.

Before accumulating enough stat points for the first upgrade, strolling through Hell's Kitchen every night was Lucas's daily routine. During this period, he helped Daredevil many times.

'Matt Murdock, I hope you are a lawyer, not a gang leader.'

'Although they are two different Universes, if possible, I still don't want to kill you.'

Hailing a taxi, Lucas said, "Hello, to Nelson & Murdock Law Firm."

"Nelson & Murdock Law Firm? Is it new? Sorry, sir, I don't know. Perhaps you can give directions."

Lucas's heart sank, and he handed the taxi driver a large green bill. "Here's your tip, no need for a car."

Lucas moved to another spot and hailed a few more taxis to inquire.

The answers were all the same.

If the law firm existed, then Matt would be a lawyer, not a gang leader. Conversely, it doesn't prove that Matt is definitely a gang leader.

But...

'Never mind, even if it's tiring, I'll find him myself.'

Calming himself, Lucas's mental power expanded. He listened carefully to every sound in New York City.

"Murdock! Kingpin's death is suspicious. The killer might have been at the scene, why did you let them leave?!"

'Is this Daredevil the version who works for Kingpin?' Lucas sighed softly.

'Matt, you won't blame me for killing one of your variants, will you?'

"Murdock, did you kill the boss?!" A henchman in a black suit, dressed as a bodyguard, stepped forward and roared, pointing at Matt.

Bang!

A gunshot rang out.

"What standing do you have to point at Mr. Murdock?"

In an instant, Kingpin's former subordinates split into three factions.

Matt Murdock's faction and the anti-Matt Murdock faction drew their guns and faced off. The neutral party retreated to the side, watching with cold eyes.

Bang!

Twenty blocks away, Lucas mimed firing a gun with his fingers.

An invisible energy solidified into substance, traveled through a portal, instantly reaching Matt Murdock's forehead.

Matt Murdock fell to the ground.

Immediately, gunshots erupted.

His task done, Lucas left, his achievement and fame hidden deep.

Time to go home for dinner!

As for the remaining criminal organization, it is not easy to investigate. It's better to leave it to Gwen, just like the Vampire incident. Once she finds out, he'll step in to seal the deal.

Accompanied by a golden flash, Lucas appeared in Gwen's living room.

"Good evening, George."

"Good evening, Gwen."

"Good evening, Lucas." x2

Gwen was already used to Lucas's entrance method.

Since he learned the portal spell yesterday, he hasn't walked properly. He uses a portal wherever he goes.

Hmm?

At dinner, Lucas noticed that George was looking at him a bit strangely.

Just like Helen from Earth-404.

"Gwen, are you going out tonight?" George suddenly asked.

Last night, when Gwen explained her whereabouts to George, she also told him about her identity as Ghost-Spider.

"Yes." Gwen nodded.

"Dad, you told me that Ghost-Spider can help more people."

George frowned, he had indeed said that:

"Gwen, I'm not against you helping others. But right now, Ghost-Spider's identity is that of a criminal."

Gwen's tone was a bit impulsive. "Dad, I've explained it to you. Peter wasn't killed by me, he died from the side effects of the Lizard serum."

She couldn't accept that the person closest to her didn't believe her.

"Gwen, I believe you." George soothed Gwen.

"The police station needs evidence, and you don't agree to let me reinvestigate."

"I don't want anyone else to know that the monster was Peter." Gwen's voice was low.

Between Ghost-Spider's innocence and her deceased friend's reputation, she chose to protect the latter.

Lucas interjected, "There's a type of magic that can make everyone in this world forget about Ghost-Spider 'killing' Peter Parker."

"But there's a problem, the archives cannot be deleted."

George said, "As long as no one remembers this, I can close the case directly and then seal the archives."

Gwen looked at Lucas and George gratefully. "Lucas, dad, thank you."

George looked at Lucas. "So, shall we act now?"

Lucas calculated the time and shook his head. "Tomorrow."

It was probably around four or five in the morning in Nepal, and the Ancient One was still asleep.

Gwen looked at George with a pleading gaze, eager to act.

She was already impatient.

George hesitated for a moment, then nodded in agreement.

Just one night, surely nothing will happen, right?

"Yay."

Gwen cheered, returning to her room to change from her school uniform into her battle suit.

New York City, your friendly neighborhood Ghost-Spider is back tonight.

Lucas shook his head and smiled.

Want to run wild and play?

Didn't expect it, did you? Your boss Lucas has a task for you.

In front of George, Lucas used his newly learned telepathy. "Gwen, I have a task for you. Investigate SILK."
