Chapter 30 - Chapter -30:Where No One Looks

The old music room was almost forgotten.

Most students avoided it because one piano key was always broken, and the windows rattled when the wind passed. Teachers rarely came here unless it was exam season.

That's why Christopher chose it.

He stood near the window, hands in his pockets, heart oddly restless. This place felt different from the storeroom---less hidden, more honest.

The door creaked softly.

Zia slipped inside, closing it behind her with careful fingers.

Her hair was tied loosely today,a few strands falling over her face .She didn't smile immediately. She never did during these meetings. As if smiling would make it too real.

"You came,"Christopher Said quietly.

"I always do,"Zia replied.

They stood there ,a few steps apart.

Silence--but not awkward.

The kind of Silence that carried unspoken thoughts.

Outside, laughter echoed from the playground. Inside, time slowed .

"People are noticing, "Christopher said finally.

Zia nodded. "Sofee watches me.Jason watches you."

"And Leo..."Christopher hesitated. "Leo watches me."

Zia looked up sharply ."You noticed. "

"I didn't want to," he admitted. "But I'm not blind."

She stepped closer ,lowering her voice.

"This is why we have to be careful. "

Christopher met her eyes.

"This is also why I don't want to stop."

Zia inhaled slowly.

Then--without warning--she reached out.

Her fingers brushed his wrist .light .almost unsure.

Christopher froze.

Zia looked at their hands, then at him.

"I told myself I'd step back if it got complicated, "She whispered. "But every time I try ...I move closer instead. "

Her fingers tightened slightly.

Christopher turned his hand ,intertwined their fingers.

"That's okay," he said softly.

"I've been complicated my whole life."

Zia smiled--small, real.

She leaned in ,resting her forehead against his chest.

Christopher's breath caught.

He didn't move. didn't rush.

Just lifted one hand and placed it gently against her back--protective, not claiming.

For a moment, the world outside didn't exist.

No Jason.

No sofee.

No family mess .

Just them.

A sound from the corridor made them pull apart instantly.

Zia stepped back,fixing her expression.

Christopher picked up the folded note had slipped onto the piano.

Their eyes met one last time.

"Same rule,"Zia said.

"No one knows. "

Christopher nodded.

"Until the end."

She left first.

Christopher stayed behind, touching the piano keys once--soft,careful.

Some secrets didn't want to stay hidden forever.

But for now---

They belonged only to them.
