Chapter 138 - Chapter 138: Huang Shi vs Greenwood Sky Snake (1)

In an instant, she was already in front of the ape, her spear flashing with a bloody red light.

[IMPERIAL BLOOD SPEAR ART: FIRST FORM – BLOOD FEUD]

WHOOSH!

Her spear suddenly glowed with a terrifying blood-red light, letting off a powerful wave of spiritual energy that flashed through her arms before she threw it straight at the Golden-Eyed Obsidian Ape.

ROAR!!

The ape raised its fist to retaliate, gathering its powerful spiritual energy before punching straight at the incoming spear.

CRACK!

The punch seemed able to hold back the spear—at least for a few seconds—until cracking sounds suddenly resounded from the ape's fist. The so-called white bone gloves it was so proud of suddenly showed signs of breaking.

CRACK! CRACK!

Just as they were about to shatter, a crimson light flashed at the periphery of the ape's vision.

The spear actually turned around in mid-air and rushed straight back to the hand of the crimson-haired woman, who had run behind the ape's back and was now positioned right beside its legs.

She caught her spear, spun it in the air, and stabbed it straight into the back of its knees.

SPLURT!

Blood spurted out in a roar of pain as the Golden-Eyed Obsidian Ape struggled to stay standing. Yet, before it could fully drop to its knees, it raised its fist and smashed straight down toward the woman, as a powerful spiritual energy pressure spread out from its fist.

BOOM!

A powerful black and white shockwave erupted from the attack.

The crimson-haired woman was suddenly surrounded by a giant sphere made of crimson sand that protected her from most of the impact, as numerous spears made of crimson sand suddenly appeared all around her before rushing straight for the ape and stabbing into different parts of its body like needles.

ROAR!

While this fight was going on in the inner forest, three days had passed in the background. Huang Shi had finally fully recovered from his injuries; he stood up from his cross-legged position and opened his golden eyes, which were now shining with a powerful light.

"Alright, you damn snake, round two. I will definitely kill you this time."

WHOOSH!

Huang Shi started to run in the direction of the Greenwood Sky Snake's territory. After running for around an hour, he finally started to notice that fewer and fewer spiritual beasts were appearing in the area, and before long, there was not even a single spiritual beast to be found.

It was clear that he had now officially entered the territory of the Greenwood Sky Snake, as the massive trees in the forest seemed to loom over him with a terrifying darkness.

This damn snake really likes this place that has lots of shade.

He shook his head as, before long, he had found his target. It was a massive green snake, currently curled upon itself. It had shades of white patterns on its skin looking like tribal designs, while the top of its head featured a bone structure that looked as if a crown had been placed there.

Not only that, but behind its 30-meter-long body were tiny wings that seemed underdeveloped—lacking the strength to bring its body to flight—but with enough growth, he was sure that eventually, this thing could soar through the air.

Maybe the Greenwood Sky Snake King can fly…

Huang Shi focused his attention on his target, his plan already starting in earnest as he began to place white incense all around the resting place of the snake. The white incense seemed to be visible for only a few seconds before disappearing into the air, as if it weren't even there.

He placed a grand total of five white incense sticks around the snake, costing him a total of 10,000 Scum points.

This is my first time buying these damn things; it better be effective.

These white incense sticks that he placed all around the snake were called "White Snake Repellant," and according to the system, they were something that—when smelled by anything related to snakes—would slow and dull their senses in combat, making them more prone to making mistakes.

Even though he felt like he shouldn't use something like this against an enemy of the 9th level of the Nascent Profound Realm, this snake was clearly not just any enemy.

In fact, he was quite certain that in terms of power level, this thing was just on the cusp of the True Profound Realm; if it could ambush someone with its powerful venom, it could very well kill even those True Profound Realm spiritual beasts that were particularly weak.

After a while, he finally stopped what he was doing and took something out of his spatial ring that he hadn't touched ever since he purchased it.

It was a plain white mask with crimson circular outlines that spiraled outward, like a hypnotist's mask. In fact, the thing seemed to confuse anyone who looked at it; even just holding it in his hands, he felt a bit nauseous.

[THOUSAND FACES OF SHAME MASK]

Let's wear this thing just in case... you know just to be safe.

After making his decision, he instantly wore the mask on his face. He suddenly felt his skin twitching before the mask seeped into his flesh, disappearing as if it weren't even there. He instantly touched his face, startled.

Fuck... where the hell is it? I can't feel it anywhere. Did it damn work?

After thinking for a few seconds, he opened his spatial ring and took out an average mirror. Before long, his pupils instantly constricted as his face twitched, and he inwardly roared.

WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO MY FACE? I HAVE NO FACE!

Right now, Huang Shi didn't have any face to speak of. He had no eyes, no nose, no ears, and no mouth; it was just a blank, smooth surface where his features should have been. Just as he was about to panic, he heard the voice of the system ring out in his mind.
