Chapter 130 - Chapter 130: An End and A New Beginning (2)

He just barely caught a glimpse of what was inside of his spatial ring before he gasped; what he saw inside were mountains—literally mountains of spirit stones.

I'm rich, I'm so fucking rich! I-I won't have to worry about cultivation resources at least until I reach the Sky Profound Realm at this rate!

Obviously, the system had to rain on his parade, as it instantly spoke inside of his head in that usual monotone voice.

[That is a very inaccurate and exaggerated statement host.]

Fuck, can't this damn bastard be on my side for once!

Seeing that he had gone quiet, the woman gave him another smile that sent goosebumps through his skin as she spoke words that caused him to shiver.

"Don't tell me you want even more?"

He instantly shook his head in a wild manner, like a rattling drum, as he immediately straightened his back and replied in a solemn voice, "Of course not, mother-in-law! This junior is very, very grateful for the gift you have given me. I promise you I will repay you a hundredfold in the future!"

Seeing the solemn look on his face, the woman shook her head as she replied in a simple manner, "Just do your best to take care of my daughter in the future, and don't die. I won't even know how to pacify that child in the future if you die prematurely."

Despite what she said, it was clear that his flattery had some effect, as he seemed to catch a hint of a genuine smile on her face before it instantly disappeared like it was never there.

[YOU HAVE MADE A SUPREME BEING OF HEAVEN AND EARTH HAPPY AT YOUR FLATTERY. LIKE A TRUE SCUMBAG, THIS WILL BE REWARDED. +10,000 SCUM POINTS!]

Alright, you bastard system, are you really trying to pick a damn fight?!

After a few moments of silence, the woman turned back towards him, her expression unreadable and her aura of a supreme expert returning in earnest, as he once again felt a powerful spiritual energy pressure rattling his bones.

"I expect great things from you, Huang Shi. If you truly want to make the things you said into reality and one day take my daughter's hand in marriage, you better work hard on your cultivation and not be complacent because of your talent—unless, of course, you just want to be like those other so-called geniuses in the world, failing to reach their full potential and dying like rats on the roadside."

Her tone was cold and indifferent, like she had seen these types of situations happen thousands of times before. Huang Shi listened attentively before nodding his head with a grim expression. T

his was something that he had already thought a lot about before, but having a supreme expert like her speak to him about it personally made it all the more serious.

I need to make sure that I give myself enough time to grow. It won't matter if I have a system, if I have a Heavenly Physique, if I have divine-rank talent, or the dormant bloodline of some primordial dragon god; if I don't realize my full potential, it will all be worthless in the end. I need to make sure that I live to see the day where all of creation trembles with the wave of my hand, where my every word becomes law, and where even a single point of my finger can change the rules of heaven and earth!

BOOM!

All of a sudden, a hymn sounded across heaven and earth, as if bearing witness to his profound ambition, as Dao charms appeared all around him, making him look like a divine being.

Thankfully for him, the silver-haired woman had already waved her hand, blocking off all signs of his current enlightenment; if she hadn't done this, the signs would probably have spread all throughout the Greenwood Forest.

This child is definitely talented. If he is given enough time to grow and he becomes Dao companions with Xinyue, even those monstrous bastards at the Nine Abyssal Court, Soul Devouring Pavilion, and War God Hall will have to one day face the threat of annihilation.

As for those snakes at the Church of the Eternal Sun....

She narrowed her eyes, as a cold murderous intent appeared before she shifted her attention back to Huang Shi.

Since that kid's Heavenly Physique seems to be related to the sun as well, I'll let him deal with it. After all, it seems this kid's cultivation technique is the direct antithesis of the Church; they will definitely find some way to either recruit him into their fold or annihilate him in the future.

With this in mind, she waved her hand a second time, putting a tiny formation inside of his body that would help him hide the truth of his abilities from certain powerful cultivators.

Let's just hope the Church's Sunlight Inquisitors don't find anything odd about him and kill him prematurely; after all, those snakes are quite active in the territory of the Great Tang.

After a couple of minutes, Huang Shi finally opened his eyes as he felt his Dao heart sublimate; in fact, he even felt his cultivation base improve by a significant margin.

Just a few weeks of closed-door cultivation, and I can easily breakthrough to the 4th level of the Nascent Profound Realm!

Finally, he once again heard a voice sound near his ears. It still seemed to be cold and monotone, but he could still trace a hint of motherly gentleness in it.

"Congratulations on your breakthrough. It seems you are quite lucky."

Huang Shi instantly looked back at her and nodded his head before bowing straight to her. "Thank you for serving as my Dao protector, mother-in-law! I promise I will not disappoint your expectations of me!"

Finally, the time had come to part. The woman waved her hand, and they instantly teleported back to the ground; once again, they were both back inside the log cabin that he and Bai Xinyue had made previously.
