Chapter 44 - Chapter 44: Learning Miscellaneous Information (2)

After losing track of the time and spending a couple of hours reading through all the information he felt was valuable enough to learn, he finally put down the last book he read and gave a slight smile.

[Recording and Memorization Complete]

All right, the system can basically give me a form of photographic memory. The difference is that I can pick and choose what information the system will save and what it should discard.

Smiling happily in satisfaction, he finally stood up from his seat and walked towards where Qiao Fenyi was while thinking to himself.

I've basically accomplished two of the three goals that I've set to accomplish when I went to the information hall. The only one task remaining is to go up the third level of the information hall and grab a copy of the Azure Dragon Tyrant Body—then I can go back to my Li Mei.

If you were to ask what kind of goals Huang Shi had for coming to the information hall, it would be divided into three things.

First, he had to come into contact with his grandfather, Huang Li, at the behest of his Li Mei, to see if this person was still an ally to him in this sect. Needless to say, that task was accomplished with flying colors. Not only did he find out that his Grandpa Huang Li was a staunch supporter of him and Li Mei, but he also found his second family member in this world.

Second, he wanted to learn as much miscellaneous information as he could. He wanted to learn about the culture of cultivation in this world; to make up for the gap of information he had in comparison to his peers who were natives in this world. After all, he was a transmigrator, and he didn't want people finding out that he was one just because he didn't know something completely basic.

I don't want people finding out about my identity, even if it was an accident!

Huang Shi's eyes glittered with cold light at this thought. Clearly, he was a bit paranoid about people learning that he didn't come from this world, maybe even this universe.

Finally, his third goal was quite obvious: it was to learn the original orthodox technique of the Azure Dragon Sect, the [Azure Dragon Tyrant Body]. Truthfully speaking, he didn't want to learn this body cultivation technique for a couple of reasons.

First, this cultivation was once again incomplete, as the rest of the technique was stolen by the True Dragon Ancestral Sect, turning it into their inheritance.

Even though I don't have much positive feelings towards the Azure Dragon Sect, at the end of the day, this is my grandfather's sect, so I can't just outright wipe it out in the future.

Second, despite not knowing for sure how strong this Azure Dragon Tyrant Body was, he felt that the system shop could give him an even better body cultivation technique if he really wanted to learn one—of course, for a steep price.

Lastly, he wasn't truly sure that the Azure Dragon Tyrant Body was compatible with his heavenly physique. In fact, he already had a "cultivation pathway," as he so aptly called it inside of his mind, that stipulated he would only learn cultivation techniques that would supplement his Nine Primordial Sunfyre Physique—making it more efficient, more powerful, or both.

Thankfully, the system somehow had a solution to his conundrum as well, and so he was very excited.

Sigh... with the system in hand, it's only a matter of time before I become a supreme expert!

After thinking grandiose thoughts for a while, he finally arrived in front of Qiao Fenyi, who was reading a book that made him a bit surprised when he saw the cover.

[Advanced Pill Refinement]

Hmm? She's interested in pill refining? Interesting. Maybe I can use this information in order to increase her affection level.

Qiao Fenyi, who seemed to notice that he had arrived in front of her, suddenly looked up with an annoyed expression as she spoke with a slightly sarcastic tone. "Oh? It seems Young Master Huang Shi is finally done. I thought you would stay there for the entire day; thankfully, it was just half the day!"

Huang Shi felt a bit embarrassed at being openly called out. He rubbed his nose before replying shamelessly, "Sorry, I got a bit too caught up in my studies that I forgot the time."

Qiao Fenyi looked straight into his eyes for a couple of seconds before shaking her head. "It's fine, I was just joking. It's good that you take your studies seriously, although I don't know why you needed to learn all of that information—isn't that common knowledge?"

Qiao Fenyi had a questioning look on her face as she looked at Huang Shi. In fact, it was almost as if she was asking: Why did you waste your time learning all of those useless things?

Huang Shi had a wry smile on his face. Obviously, he couldn't reveal the reasons for his behavior to Qiao Fenyi, so he opted to avoid the question by asking her something else. "Since I'm done with my job here on the first level, why don't we go to the third level? I need to get a copy of a cultivation technique from there!"

Seeing that Huang Shi had chosen to ignore her question, she didn't push further. Just like everybody in the cultivation world, everyone had their own secrets and chance encounters; it was common knowledge that it was very rude to probe into any of them.

"I won't ask why you don't want to look at the second level first, but if you really are in a hurry, then let's go straight to the third level!"

After saying these words, she quietly stood up and hid the book she was reading in her spatial ring. She walked ahead of him, ignoring everybody who was once again staring at them with piercing eyes, and walked straight towards the stairway leading to the third level.
