After finally taking control over his emotions, Huang Li—also known as Grandpa Huang—finally spoke up in a stern voice as if he was truly angered by Huang Shi's actions.
"Huang Shi! Although I may not be part of the disciplinary hall, as a grand elder of the sect it is still within my jurisdiction to enact punishment on you on their behalf; therefore, for the next week you will be working in the information hall day and night, fixing the damage you have caused and working to assist the librarians in their duties in the information hall."
When Huang Shi and the people who were watching this scene with great interest—waiting for the kind of punishment grand elder Huang Li would enact—heard his verdict of the situation, they all simultaneously dropped their jaws in shock as they collectively realized something:
Grand Elder Huang Li is clearly biased towards Huang Shi!
This was especially the case when they looked at the current condition of Huang Yi, sprawled out on the ground passed out, and Huang Shi, who looked completely fine without even a scratch on his face.
Even Huang Shi was shocked when he heard the verdict coming from this Grandpa Huang, as he struggled to keep his face from twitching as he felt deeply worried about Huang Li; clearly, he also didn't expect that this backer of his would be so openly biased in favor of him.
Dang, isn't this too biased? Won't acting this way cause him trouble in the long run?
Grand Elder Huang Li, as if not noticing the strange looks people were giving him, suddenly snapped his fingers as he raised his voice once more:
"Get Huang Yi out of here and send him to the infirmary, and make sure you give him minor healing pills to facilitate his recuperation!"
WHOOSH A bunch of people suddenly showed up right beside the grand elder as they quickly did as he told them to and picked up Huang Yi and dragged him out of the information hall; they even started to fix up the mess that Huang Shi was the one who was supposed to fix.
They're even doing my job for me…
After a couple of minutes of work, the entire place was spotless; it was as if a fight had never even happened in the first place.
As for the disciples that worked directly under the grand elder, they quickly arranged themselves in a row before him and quickly bowed their heads, where Huang Li nodded in approval and thanked them for their hard work.
"You did a good job, you may continue with your duties."
After receiving the words of confirmation from their superior, they quickly left the reception hall and continued their works in other areas of the information hall.
Huang Li then looked at the people who were still staring at this situation with shocked expressions before he suddenly snorted, speaking in a loud voice:
"What? Is the show not over? What are you still doing here? SCRAM!"
When the large amount of onlookers suddenly heard these words, they suddenly shivered as they quickly did as they were told and continued with whatever it was that they were doing, with only a single thought inside of their heads:
I wish I had a grand elder as my backer…
After this entire fiasco was over, Huang Li then silently looked at Huang Shi; he looked at this child for the first time in quite a long period of time before sighing quietly and speaking in a soft voice:
"All right child, you must have a lot of questions, why don't you follow me at the back, your little date with that lass Qiao Fenyi can wait for a while!"
When this elder of his noticed his intentions, Huang Shi suddenly got a bit embarrassed as he quickly shook his head.
"This youngster has only pure thoughts about Junior Sister Fenyi, I only wished to ask for help in regards to navigating the ins and outs of the information hall!"
When Huang Li heard these words from this child, he suddenly scoffed as he gave a wry smile before speaking in reply:
"Hear that Fenyi! It seems this grandson of my mine only has pure intentions for you, if he ever messes with you, don't hesitate to tell me and I'll beat him up for you!"
Qiao Fenyi, who had been hiding behind the reception desk all this time, slowly stood up as she spoke with a reddened face and a pout.
"Grand Elder! You musn't tease me!"
When Huang Li saw her reaction, he suddenly laughed heartily before patting her head as he spoke:
"You and him can have your little date later, for now I have something I need to speak about with Shi'er so just wait a while."
Qiao Fenyi was about to speak up in retort when Huang Shi and Huang Li had already disappeared through the backdoor; and yet, right before Huang Shi left, he spoke a few parting words:
"Junior Sister, I'll see you later!"
Qiao Fenyi suddenly blushed like a red apple before speaking in an angry pout:
"Who's gonna see you later?! I'm gonna be busy later!!"
Huang Shi suddenly gave a laugh as he winked at her before finally disappearing from her sight.
Huang Li, who was walking in front of him, suddenly looked back at him quietly before speaking in a somber tone:
"You brat! How much of that whole spiel did you plan out? Did your stepmother tell you about me?"
When Huang Shi noticed the serious tone of the grand elder, he quickly straightened up as he spoke in reply:
"That's right, my stepmother told me that if I ever needed help I could contact Grand Elder Huang Li of the information hall, and since I always trust my mother I decided to trust in you as well."
When Huang Li heard the simple reasoning coming from this child—who he already treated as his own grandson—he once again gave a happy smile as he suddenly rubbed his head.
"Good child! It seems you have finally grown up, if your mother saw you right now she would definitely be very happy."
