He assumed that the "god" Chen Chen referred to was Hela, the Goddess of Death of Asgard. He thought Chen Chen had casually revealed Hela's existence, which left him momentarily stunned.

Chen Chen gave the black man a strange look. It was just the Brotherhood of Mutants—why make such a fuss? This director of S.H.I.E.L.D. didn't seem nearly as composed or cunning as the legends claimed.
Nick Fury fell silent for a moment, seemingly thinking about how he should continue the conversation with Chen Chen.
Chen Chen grew impatient and simply raised his teacup as if to see him out.

Nick Fury waved his hand, and more than a dozen agents immediately stepped forward. They carefully searched the entire room, checking for surveillance devices and listening equipment. Only after confirming that none were present did they withdraw.
Fury gestured again, and the agents retreated outside the door. Once no one else was around, he began speaking about the second matter he intended to discuss.

"There's nothing behind her. It's very white and very smooth."
Nick Fury fell silent.
"No—that's not what I mean. What I mean is that the White Queen might not be the god you think she is. She might just be a rebel. Staying by her side will only bring you endless trouble."
Seeing that Chen Chen still showed no reaction, Fury stood up.
"I've already said enough. If you ever want to truly get rid of her, you can call this number and find me anytime."
Nick Fury left behind a business card before turning and walking away.
That was as much as he could say. If he said any more, he might expose Thor.
Chen Chen watched the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents leave, then fell into deep thought.
