The hogwarts express arrived at the station. As soon as Adelaide stepped out of Platform Nine and Three-Quarters, she caught a glimpse of Edward standing next to a stylish Aston Martin V8 Vantage in the distance.
Edward had now successfully risen to become the head of the Borgin Family, yet his attitude toward Adelaide was even more respectful and humble than before.
When Edward opened the car door for Adelaide, his waist was bent nearly ninety degrees. Adelaide noticed that Edward seemed unusually excited, his eyes shining with a fanatical light; his current mental state subconsciously reminded her of Bellatrix.
Adelaide raised an eyebrow, seemingly unsurprised by Edward's behavior. She didn't say another word and simply sat quietly in the car.
Edward started the car and slowly drove out of King's Cross Station, speeding off toward Wales.
As the scenery outside the window receded, Edward's thoughts drifted back—nearly ten years had passed since his eldest brother had succeeded as the head of the Borgin family and kicked him out.
In those long ten years, he had worked like a slave for Dumbledore and the Ministry of Magic, exhausting countless amounts of energy, yet he had never managed to become the head of the Borgin family as he wished.
Never mind being the head of the Borgin family; they weren't even willing to offend his eldest brother, who had already become the head, for his sake!
People treated him like a foolish donkey, dangling a carrot named the Borgin family in front of him, driving him to work desperately day and night.
Only his master—the great Adelaide Grindelwald—truly understood his ambition and desire.
She pitied his experience and believed in his ability, spending her effort to meticulously plan a perfect "accident" for that eldest brother of his, finally allowing him to ascend to the throne of the head of the Borgin family.
It wasn't until everything went smoothly and Edward officially became the head of the Borgin family that he realized becoming the head of the Borgin family was actually so simple!
All it took was the right timing, a group of shady Muggles, and a few powerful Imperios, and everything fell into place.
Thinking of this, the veins on Edward's arms bulged as he gripped the steering wheel, and a mocking smile played at the corners of his mouth—such a simple thing, yet he had been played for a fool by the Ministry of Magic and Dumbledore, working for them like a dog for so many years; years of hard work had not brought him the status and power he deserved, and he never received his due rewards!
He was born into the Borgin Family, an ancient and prominent family that had provided him with an elite Wizard education from a young age. Entering Slytherin House had further taught him how to navigate the game of power with ease.
He was a Prefect and the Head Boy; he had achieved 10 'O's in his N.E.W.T.s—he was clearly so outstanding and powerful, so why were they unwilling to place their bets on him!
Just because he was the third child in the family, while his eldest brother was the firstborn?
It was simply ridiculous!
It wasn't until he successfully succeeded as the head of the Borgin family that the ridiculous Minister Fudge from the Ministry of Magic finally approached him with a pleasant face during his succession ceremony, saying he wanted to give him a promotion—who would care for that!
Dumbledore also sent him a letter of congratulations, hoping he would continue to serve justice in the future—heh.
None of that mattered anymore; he had met a master more worthy of his loyalty, a great leader!
Edward had decided to change his attitude on the night his eldest brother died: he would no longer harbor any illusions about the Ministry of Magic and Dumbledore. On the surface, he would continue to cooperate with them, but from then on, he would only deal with them perfunctorily. In the future, the Borgin family would only be wholeheartedly loyal to Adelaide.
After all, only Adelaide had truly brought him power and status, and he would return the favor, doing whatever it took to help Adelaide achieve her goals.
The sports car sped along a coastal road in Pembrokeshire, Wales, Britain. Edward, sitting in the driver's seat, was in a cheerful mood, talking incessantly to Adelaide beside him about the scenery and interesting facts near the Borgin family manor.
"West of Borgin Manor is a Muggle-built 'Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.' The scenery there is beautiful! Especially when the weather is good, you can go for a walk there and feel the wonder of nature."
"To the southeast of the manor is a small town called Tenby. The Muggle food there is quite good; when I was a child, my sister and I would often sneak over to taste those delicious foods."
Speaking of this, a trace of nostalgia appeared on Edward's face. After all, things were different now; his sister and brother had passed away one after another, and he was the only one left in the Borgin family.
Adelaide observed the terrain near the manor while listening to Edward's explanation—Borgin Manor was located by the sea in Pembrokeshire, which was why Adelaide had chosen to build Grindelwald Manor near St George's Channel.
The geographical location of this island was very close to Borgin Manor. According to the flight speed of a Nimbus 2000, it would only take thirty minutes to fly from the island to Borgin Manor without getting lost.
When the car reached a fork in the road, Edward skillfully turned the steering wheel and steered the car into a side path.
The tall trees on both sides of the path were lush and green, and together with the low shrubs below, they formed a dark forest, as if isolating the noise and distractions of the outside world.
Edward explained, "From this fork, we enter the Borgin family's territory. It's covered by a massive Enchantment. Normally, those Muggles can't even perceive this forest, let alone wander into the interior of the manor; of course, this is actually a form of protection for them."
Not long after the sports car turned into the forest path, Adelaide noticed a layer of faint green mist permeating the forest. According to Edward, this green mist was no ordinary fog, but a powerful Dark Arts Enchantment—in the Ministry of Magic's Register of Forbidden Enchantments, it was specifically recorded as "Nightmare Mist."
Once an outsider entered this area without the consent of a Borgin family member, the intruder who inhaled the mist would instantly lose consciousness and be drawn into a never-ending world of nightmares.
If they were not rescued within a week, their bodies in the real world would undergo a terrible transformation, turning into Inferi and becoming free security guards for the outskirts of Borgin family manor, guarding this territory forever.
Adelaide squinted her eyes and looked deep into the forest on both sides of the path. Upon careful observation, she really did spot a few swaying, blurry shadows.
