"Then I set two more cards and end my turn," Yugen said.
"At this moment, I activate my remaining face-down card!"
The Trap in Daiyama Hei's Back Row flipped open. "Continuous Spell-Archfiend's Oath!" Daiyama Hei declared. "During the Draw Phase, I declare a card name. If I draw the declared card, I deal 1000 damage to the opponent. If I declare wrong, I take 1000 damage myself!" (ANIME EFFECT)
It was the Continuous card he had used in the anime when dueling Judai Yuki. Everyone present was visibly shocked.
"What kind of ridiculous Trap is that!?" Asuka Tenjoin said with a frown.
"And you have to declare the exact card you'll draw from a whole Deck? That's impossible, isn't it?" Sho Marufuji said, equally incredulous. "The odds of taking the damage yourself should be much higher..."
"Interesting. Really interesting." Judai Yuki's eyes continued to shine.
"Then it's My Turn!, and I'll draw!"
Daiyama Hei closed his eyes and placed his fingers on top of the Deck, as if his whole body and mind had sunk into this single moment of Card Draw. "The true meaning of Card Draw is like flowing water, water that has remained unchanged for thousands of years. I can feel it. I can feel it now. My next card is..."
"Card Destruction!" (ANIME EFFECT)
Daiyama Hei swiftly Card Draw and revealed the card. It really was the Normal Spell Card he had declared, "Card Destruction."
"No way. He really got it right!?" Sho Marufuji cried out in shock.
Asuka Tenjoin was speechless for a moment and could only look the wild-looking student up and down. Could this person really have trained in the mountains until he gained the power to glimpse the future in a Duel?
"So you take 1000 damage," Daiyama Hei said.
"You really got it right. Impressive," Yugen said. "Then I activate the Trap 'Rainbow Life'! Effect damage from the opponent's card becomes LP recovery of the same amount." (ANIME EFFECT)
It was essentially an effect-damage version of Draining Shield. A huge rectangular absorption panel appeared in front of him, and the blasting energy passed through it, turning into golden light that sank into Yugen's body.

"Oh, that's Yugen for you," Judai Yuki said happily. "He really isn't that easy to beat."
Daiyama Hei nodded in satisfaction. "If my opponent weren't like this, there would be no way to test the results of my training. Then I activate the card I just drew from my hand, the Spell Card 'Card Destruction'!"
"It makes the opponent draw 1 card from the Deck. If I can guess that card's type, Spell, Trap, or Monster, then every card in the opponent's hand and on the field is returned to the Deck and shuffled back in!" (ANIME EFFECT)
It was another anime-original card Daiyama Hei had used against Judai Yuki. Everyone was startled all over again.
"What kind of outrageous effect is this now?"
Asuka Tenjoin looked at Daiyama Hei in confusion. "You can not only predict the card you draw yourself, but even predict what your opponent draws too?"
That was already beyond skill and into the realm of supernatural ability.
Yugen drew as instructed. Daiyama Hei closed his eyes and focused himself for half a second.
Then he suddenly opened them and struck a pose like a little detective identifying the culprit. "You drew a Spell Card!"
Yugen smiled faintly and revealed the card he had drawn. Spell Card-Pot of Greed.
"That's correct."
Even so, Daiyama Hei still seemed to be holding back somewhat here. In the anime, when he used "Card Destruction," he had not only seen through that Judai Yuki had drawn a Spell Card, he had even named the exact card as "De-Fusion."
Being able to guess the specific card was clearly the work of a superpower. Of course, that level of performance did not seem completely stable. On his very next turn in the original story, when Daiyama Hei tried to predict his own draw again, he failed. From the look of it, he had ultimately been overwhelmed by Judai Yuki's "dueling momentum," and once his mind wavered, his Card Draw collapsed with it.

He pointed at the other face-down card that had already flipped up beside him. Only then did Daiyama Hei notice it. He had closed his eyes and focused completely just now, so he had missed its activation.

All the Cards on Yugen's field immediately turned into golden light and flew back into the Deck. Even Despair from the Dark returned to its owner Daiyama Hei's Deck. In an instant, the field was completely cleared.
"You can still stay this calm in this kind of dueling momentum. Looks like you're no ordinary person either," Daiyama Hei said. "But how much longer can you keep that composure? I Summon Berserk Gorilla!"

The red ape let out an angry roar and spat blazing flames. But just before the whirling fire reached Yugen, it slammed into a ghostly barrier. A phantom figure appeared in front of him and blocked the impact like a shield.
"Necro Gardna in the Graveyard," Yugen said. "When an opponent's monster declares a direct attack, banish this card from the Graveyard, and negate the attack."
"One of the five cards discarded by Card Destruction at the start?" Daiyama Hei nodded. "So even after losing your hand and field, you still had something prepared in the Graveyard."
"People like us ordinary folk, who don't have your level of confidence in Card Draw, can only prepare a little more in advance." Yugen smiled.
"You really are an excellent Duelist. But there is a limit to relying on things like that. I realized that long ago. Only Card Draw can truly decide the result."
Daiyama Hei revealed another card from his hand. "Continuous Spell - Heart of the Underdog! If the card you draw during your Draw Phase is a Normal Monster, you can reveal it and draw 1 more card!"
