The elevator doors slid open directly into the parking lot of the underground tunnels. The black SUV sat idling with its engine on. They piled in fast with Katya in the driver's seat, Lucien in the front passenger with his rifle across his lap, and the other three in the back.
The moment the doors slammed shut, Katya floored the gas pedal. The tires shrieked against the pavement as they shot toward the hidden exit that led into the labyrinth of Vienna's sewer-access roads.
"Check the tail," Dante commanded, opening his laptop to sync with their private satellite feed.
"Two black sedans just pulled out of the shadows three levels up," Lucien reported after he listened to his earpiece, squinting at the side mirror. "I bet they're Alexi's dog."
