----------------------------------------------------------
Early the next morning, Grayfia was busy in the kitchen, faithfully performing her duties as a maid.
Meanwhile, Hiro placed his hand over Lucrezia's heart, preparing to attempt the Magecraft he had failed to complete the previous day.
Within the empty sea of consciousness, Lucrezia's soul body floated silently, eyes closed, completely unaware of Hiro's presence.
"Lucrezia's soul matches her body-meaning it hasn't aged. But Grayfia's soul is in a younger state."
Hiro observed quietly.
"So does the soul automatically conform to the shape of the body... or does it reflect the shape of one's will?"
"If it's the latter, then there's no need to worry."
After studying Lucrezia's soul body for a moment, Hiro shook his head and extended his hand into the soul itself.
Outside, Lucrezia's heartbeat suddenly accelerated.
Her limbs stiffened, twitching intermittently, and the temperature of her skin rose slightly.
Fortunately, her barely maintained consciousness allowed her to restrain her body, preventing any involuntary movement toward Hiro.
This scene wasn't unfamiliar to him.
He had witnessed something very similar just yesterday.
"So this is what the ancients meant by 'spiritual intercourse'..."
Noticing the feedback Lucrezia's body produced as Soul Materialization took effect, Hiro's mouth twitched faintly.
A strange feeling surfaced in his mind.
This was his first real attempt at the Third Magic-Soul Materialization.
As he carefully materialized the soul, he simultaneously sensed the experiential feedback generated by the Magecraft itself.
"The soul remains a soul."
"It doesn't generate blood vessels, muscles, or organs like a physical body."
"But it can detach from the flesh and exist independently-essentially functioning as a clone outside the body."
"Purely in terms of appearance, a materialized soul is no different from a physical body..."
"...ahem. Excluding clothing."
Even if the physical body suffered fatal damage, as long as the soul remained intact, it could recover rapidly.
It would permanently maintain a flawless body that conformed to the soul's form.
"And..."
Hiro's gaze deepened slightly.
From Lucrezia's soul, he sensed endless, rootless magic power-generated out of nothing-flowing ceaselessly.
The enchanting soul body showed no signs of weakening or dissipation.
"In the Type-Moon worldview, a fully materialized soul can possess infinite magic power."
"I didn't believe that before."
"It's just the materialization of a human soul-how could it possibly reach that level?"
"But now..."
"It seems to be true."
Granting Servants or souls a physical body was merely a crude, surface-level use of the Third Magic.
What Hiro was doing now was fundamentally different.
Giving a physical body while the original body was still alive was meaningless.
This was something even Hiro-despite his current power-couldn't ignore.
Still, thinking about that infinite magic power which he couldn't yet make direct use of...
And the possibility that Soul Materialization might permanently fix Lucrezia's appearance at around sixteen years old...
He hesitated.
A fully matured Lucrezia alone wasn't enough to determine whether the body would remain locked in its current state, or continue to change over time.
"There's still time. No need to rush."
"I'll test this later on Erica's maid."
"It'll probably take a while to see the results."
"It would be ideal if there were a way to accelerate her growth."
Having made up his mind, Hiro applied a bit of force to his hand and straightened up, a mischievous smile forming on his face.
Lucrezia let out a soft moan and slowly opened her eyes.
"Alright."
"Check your body carefully and see what changes you notice."
Hiro smiled as he gave the instruction.
"Yes, Lord Hiro."
Lucrezia nodded and closed her eyes once more.
A moment later, when she opened them again, her expression was blank-like someone who had just realized something impossible.
"My magic power..."
"It's increasing. Constantly."
"Even now, when I'm doing nothing at all, it's still increasing without stopping."
"Why...?"
"No-where is this magic power coming from?"
Infinite magic power.
A perpetual motion machine for mana.
For Lucrezia Zola-who had no conceptual framework for such a thing-it was impossible to grasp immediately.
Where was it coming from?
I don't know either.
Maybe it's flowing in from the Root of another world.
Hiro simply smiled, remaining silent.
He had no intention of answering.
Once Lucrezia calmed down slightly, Hiro finally spoke again, pointing out what she hadn't yet realized.
"It's not just your magic power."
"You'll understand the rest slowly."
"Your body no longer has a lifespan limit."
"You've achieved true immortality."
"You'll remain eternally youthful."
"As long as your soul isn't destroyed, even if your body turns to ash, you can fully resurrect in a short time."
"And as for the drawback..."
Hiro paused.
Lucrezia looked at him, puzzled.
"Your soul has become very special."
"In the eyes of certain Gods or Campiones, it has extremely high collection value."
"That may bring you danger."
Lucrezia had already prepared herself mentally when he mentioned a drawback.
She expected something severe.
Yet this was all he said.
She stared at him quietly, then asked as if to confirm:
"Only... that?"
What kind of drawback was that, really?
Heretic Gods weren't something one casually ran into.
As for Campiones who could directly perceive souls-
Among the current six-now seven-Campiones, it was unclear whether that particular maid possessed such an ability.
But the others definitely did not.
Lucrezia knew this very well.
In other words-
She had obtained a power-up with no side effects.
And infinite growth potential.
"As far as I know,"
Hiro replied calmly, meeting her gaze,
"That's the only one."
