Chapter 41 - Chapter 41: Return to Heaven

These people saw a fresh-faced intern appear.

They realized he could take over some of their work, and their eyes immediately lit up.

So the Hospital conducted a comprehensive assessment of Hyuga Aokawa and found that he was indeed as the training teacher had described.

After much deliberation, they shoved this new "workhorse" into the Hospital under the guise of an internship.

That very day, Hyuga Aokawa was entrusted with heavy responsibilities.

First and foremost was utilizing his function as a human X-ray machine.

Against the backdrop of strained medical resources, patients arrived one after another.

The Emergency Department prioritized equipment for the critically injured, causing patients with less severe injuries to be constantly bumped back in the queue.

Thus, the Hospital used Hyuga Aokawa's Byakugan as a temporary solution.

Patients with non-critical injuries would first come to Hyuga Aokawa for an examination.

Based on the results, the next steps for treatment would be determined.

Occasionally, for those without internal injuries, Hyuga Aokawa would use the Healing Technique to treat the wounds on the spot.

Initially, Hyuga Aokawa only interned at the Hospital on Saturdays and Sundays, attending classes normally from Monday to Friday.

Later, the Hospital simply sent someone to request a long leave of absence from Inoue Reigetsu to keep Hyuga Aokawa at the Hospital full-time.

And so, Hyuga Aokawa, who in his previous life didn't start working until his twenties, became a "workhorse" at the early age of eleven in this life.

He worked at the Hospital during the day and sought out Might Guy to train together after work.

During this time, he also took a moment to find the Hyuga Clan's teaching Elder, Hinata Yatada, to learn Return to Heaven.

At first, the old man remained expressionless when he saw him holding a plain yet exquisite Kunai.

It wasn't until he brought out his self-brewed beer that the old man's face lit up with warmth.

Only then did he realize that the old man was a lover of fine alcohol.

But the repetitive shochu and sake had long since lost their charm for him.

The beer Hyuga Aokawa brought, though low in alcohol content, was refreshing because of its novelty.

After taking a few sips, Hinata Yatada shouted in delight.

He immediately stated that as long as Hyuga Aokawa brought beer...

Even if he couldn't learn Return to Heaven, he could keep coming to ask for guidance.

After a few visits, the two became well-acquainted; sometimes, when the workload at the Hospital wasn't high...

He would take beer to Hinata Yatada's place, and over time, he successfully learned Return to Heaven.

More than half a month passed in this manner.

Konoha Hospital.

Because of Hyuga Aokawa's arrival, the Hospital, for his convenience...

Specially designated an empty space in the corner of the Emergency Department entrance for Hyuga Aokawa to use.

It was fully equipped with Hospital beds, tables, computers, medicine, and lighting.

It was just like a small operating room.

Hyuga Aokawa withdrew the light of the Healing Technique and said to the patient on the bed:

"That's it. There are no internal injuries, and I've already healed your wounds. Just rest for a few days and you'll be fine."

"Thank you, doctor! Thank you!" the patient said with deep gratitude.

"You're welcome."

Watching the patient leave with a smile, Hyuga Aokawa also found a chair to lean back in.

From morning until nearly noon, he hadn't had a moment's rest.

Just as he sat down, several nurses pushed a few groaning patients toward him.

These nurses were just ordinary civilians, not Ninjas.

They had some medical knowledge but lacked any Chakra-related skills.

They were mainly responsible for assisting and nursing, serving as an important supplement to Konoha's medical system.

"Lord Aokawa, please take a look at their injuries first."

A medical staff member requested with hands pressed together.

Hyuga Aokawa sighed helplessly, activated his Byakugan, and scanned them one by one.

While observing the conditions inside the patients' bodies, he spoke:

"Subcapsular splenic hematoma; Chakra flow is stagnating in a vortex at the left costal margin."

"Understood!" The medical staff thanked him repeatedly and pushed the patient away.

Hyuga Aokawa scanned the next one.

"Shuriken fragments are embedded in the scapular muscle group, with pearl-like calcified cysts forming in the surrounding tissue."

"There are three rupture points in the sciatic nerve..."

"..."

Hyuga Aokawa scanned them one by one, and the medical staff pushed the patients away with gratitude.

He finally finished seeing them.

Then, several more medical staff members arrived with more patients.

"What's this?" Hyuga Aokawa saw that these patients didn't seem to be from the Emergency Department.

"Lord Aokawa, please take a look; these are patients for follow-up exams," a medical staff member said.

"Why are follow-up patients coming to me too?" Hyuga Aokawa frowned.

"The Emergency Department borrowed the equipment from the Inpatient Department, so it can't be used right now," the medical staff member explained helplessly.

"Fine, it's our own department's fault then."

Hyuga Aokawa had to force himself to focus; he picked up the medical records of several patients and, after reading them...

He checked them again with his Byakugan.

"Post-operative recovery is good, Chakra flow at the wound site is smooth, you can continue resting on your own."

"Yes, thank you, doctor," the patient said.

He looked at the next one, and his eyes widened.

It was actually a pregnant woman.

"What's going on? Why is a pregnant woman here? Did the Emergency Department borrow the B-ultrasound machine too?"

The medical staff member nodded awkwardly.

Hyuga Aokawa couldn't help but roll his eyes.

Fortunately, the medical knowledge provided by Stone Gate was comprehensive enough.

He let out a long breath and began the examination with his Byakugan.

After a moment, he said, "The fetus is developing normally, and the umbilical cord blood flow is stable. Congratulations."

"Doctor, is it a boy or a girl?" the pregnant woman asked happily.

Hyuga Aokawa smiled and shook his head.

Seeing this, the pregnant woman understood his meaning and left with a word of thanks.

He turned to the next one:

"Recovery of the meridians is not ideal; Chakra is blocked at the third lumbar vertebra. I suggest reformulating the physical therapy plan."

"Bone recovery is in good condition, the bone line is blurred..."

"..."

Soon, Hyuga Aokawa finished the examinations for these patients.

He slumped into his chair, exhausted.

He finally understood why medical staff in his previous life had such poor attitudes.

If it were like this for over a decade, with this level of intensity every day...

His temper wouldn't be any better.

Fortunately, there were some rewards.

Suddenly, a clear, bright voice rang out.

"Aokawa, what are you doing here?"

Hyuga Aokawa turned around, and a red silhouette appeared in his vision.

Kurenai Yuhi?

She was still wearing those red and white clothes, with bandages wrapped around her fair thighs and forearms.

Her red eyes were very clear and bright.

Seeing Hyuga Aokawa, she immediately beamed and waved to greet him.

She was standing on one foot, the other hovering slightly, with her hand resting on Yūhi Shinku nearby.

Her condition didn't seem very good.

Seeing this, Hyuga Aokawa stood up and went to meet them.

He first nodded to Shinku Yuhi: "Lord Shinku!"

Then he asked with concern:

"Kurenai, what happened to you?"
