We asked for two rooms, each with two beds, for a two-day stay when we arrived at the hotel.
A serviceman named Abdul came to help us after we paid and got the keys.
He took Peter and Amit to one room and Diljeet and me to another. He told us to press the button near our beds if we needed anything and promised to come quickly.
The rooms were very clean and well-kept.
After we settled in, Diljeet and I went to the bathroom to freshen up. We asked Abdul to bring us biscuits and tea, and he brought the tray right away. We also asked him to take a message to Peter and Amit, inviting them to join us in the common area.
Not long after, all four of us met there.
We were amazed by the view from the big window, where colorful birds were sitting on green trees. The outside was lively and peaceful.
We ordered spicy rice and potatoes along with Chicken Saji Bhaji.
For dessert, we had kheer and a refreshing lemon soda. As we were eating, we talked about funny jokes and shared stories from our journey so far. After a long day of traveling, the room was filled with laughter that echoed against the walls, making us feel relaxed. Every dish on the table had the warmth of local traditions and tasted really good. After dinner, we sat back in our recliners, talking about our plans for the next day, feeling happy and comfortable. Outside, the sky had turned completely dark, and the cheerful sounds of birds were replaced by an unusual silence. One by one, we decided to go back to our rooms, not knowing that the calm atmosphere of the hotel was only temporary, and that the night ahead had experiences none of us were ready for.
