Chapter 30 - The Fourth Sign-in Reward

Jaden had been waking up very early every day recently.

And the timing was frighteningly consistent.

Because-

He was always woken up by the sign-in system's notification.

Today was no exception.

So the moment he opened his eyes, he followed the system's prompt and pressed the sign-in button without hesitation.

[Sign-in Reward: Marine Six Powers - Soru (Basic Version)]

Hm!?

In an instant, Jaden was completely stunned.

The reward.

And the ability that suddenly appeared within him.

What... is this?

He sat up abruptly.

At the same time, he felt the fusion rate between Jack Hanma's stats and his own body climb to thirty percent.

But he didn't care about that yet.

He stared straight at the reward interface.

Then-

He rubbed his eyes.

Once.

Twice.

After confirming that he hadn't misread it, he finally accepted reality.

This was-

Soru.

From the Marine Six Powers.

Finger Pistol.

Tempest Kick.

Soru.

Paper Arts.

Iron Mass.

Moonwalk.

These were the Marine Six Powers from One Piece, the massively popular manga from his previous life.

Soru itself wasn't complicated to explain.

It was an ultra-high-speed movement technique achieved by stomping the ground dozens of times in an instant, producing an effect similar to instantaneous movement.

But...

Even with his current physique, Jaden didn't think he should be able to execute it.

At least, not logically.

And yet.

After receiving this reward, a series of completely unscientific images suddenly surfaced in his mind.

The movement pattern.

The force distribution.

The timing.

And when he pieced it together-

If it were the current him...

-It actually felt usable.

"Wait."

"And this is a move from the One Piece world..."

Jaden's eyes slowly lit up.

"Does that mean this sign-in system isn't limited to things like curses... but can also draw abilities from worlds with outright superpowers?"

Thinking of that, Jaden started laughing.

Quietly at first.

Then louder.

"What if I draw something like Haki next?"

"Or a Devil Fruit?"

He paused.

Then shook his head.

"No... that thinking's too small."

"The scope's way too limited."

"Super Saiyan would be faster. One step, solve everything."

Jaden muttered to himself, letting his imagination run wild.

After he finished adapting to the thirty percent increase in physical ability from Jack Hanma's fusion, he immediately got out of bed and headed straight for the courtyard.

-He wanted to try Soru.

More importantly.

With his current physical condition, if he could really execute Soru...

Then based on Jack Hanma's memories-

He might be able to attempt techniques that Jack Hanma had witnessed in the Baki world.

For example-

Kyosumi Orochi's Mach Punch.

Kyosumi Orochi could do it when he first appeared.

So with thirty percent Hanma power, at the very least, Jaden could try.

Mach Punch was probably still impossible.

Muscle Relaxation.

Energy Release.

Those were also likely out of reach.

But that Mach Punch...

What if-

What if he could actually pull it off?

Just imagining it made him feel restless.

...

Akemi was a very disciplined person.

Whether it was studying or exercising, she always planned her daily schedule carefully.

And once set, she followed it strictly.

It had been that way for years.

So when she woke up at her usual time and noticed that the light in her sister's room was still on, she couldn't help feeling surprised.

After all-

"Normally, Big Sister should still be asleep at this time..."

She said it softly.

Then she walked over and slowly pushed open the door.

Inside, she saw her sister.

Shion.

The chairman of Koyo Academy.

She was sitting at her desk, staring at a document.

Her posture was straight.

Her expression was deep in thought.

And it definitely wasn't pleasant.

"Big Sister?"

Hearing Akemi's voice, Shion turned her head.

When she saw her younger sister-beautiful, athletic, excellent in academics, and well-mannered, like a flawless superhero-her expression eased slightly.

"Akemi," Shion said. "If I remember correctly, you're helping at the orphanage today. You should be heading out soon."

Akemi nodded.

But she didn't leave immediately.

Instead, she looked at Shion with concern.

"Did something happen?"

At that, Shion casually turned the document face down on the desk.

She smiled.

And shook her head.

"No. Nothing major on my end," she said. "It's a bit troublesome, but overall, it's just something that can be resolved by working overtime. Nothing serious."

That was what she said.

But when Shion placed the document face down-

Akemi still caught a glimpse.

It was a file.

Information about someone.

She didn't see the photograph clearly.

But she saw the name.

And the affiliation.

-Ren Nikaido.

-Fighter.

-Affiliation: Toyo Electric.

...

Akemi had only recently started learning about Kengan.

Before that, even though she loved working out and was an avid muscle enthusiast, that didn't mean she liked fighting.

So despite being a member of the Soryuin family-

And despite being Shion's sister-

She had never taken interest in Kengan.

And Shion had never forced her to.

The reason she had recently come into contact with Kengan at all-

Was because of a certain fighter.

-The Wild Tiger, Jaden.

After being rescued at the O-uchu, Akemi had noticed it immediately.

Even through clothing.

Jaden's muscles.

They were different.

Completely different from those of ordinary people.

A structure she had never seen before.

Unlike the perfectly sculpted muscles of Coach Machio from the Silverman Gym, Jaden's muscles felt like something else entirely.

They were-

A treasure refined specifically for combat.

Steel tempered through countless trials.

Gold-

No.

Diamond.

Her love for muscles was intense.

So intense that, using that encounter as a starting point, she went on to watch Jaden's Kengan match against Ryo Himuro.

Through that, she gained a basic understanding of Kengan.

And learned a few things about it.

"Big Sister is worried about Kengan..."

Akemi thought about this as she ate breakfast.

"But I can't help with something like that."

"I'm not good at fighting."

"And I don't know any powerful fighters."

After tidying up, she headed toward Yuki Orphanage.

Although she wanted to share her sister's burden-

Her inability to help was a sad but undeniable fact.

So at this moment, all she could do was hope that things really were as Shion said.

That it could be resolved by working overtime.

But based on what she had recently learned about Kengan-

If this extension of commercial warfare failed, the losses would be far more than trivial.

Otherwise, her sister-

Who almost never stayed up all night-

Wouldn't have been agonizing over it until morning.

Akemi let out a quiet sigh.

But before ringing the doorbell of Yuki Orphanage, she adjusted herself.

The worried expression faded.

The sighing disappeared.

She smiled.

Since she was here to help at the orphanage, she wanted the children to see her smile.

Not her anxiety.

If she couldn't help her sister directly-

Then at the very least, she wouldn't add to her worries.

That was how Akemi chose to think.

And then-

What happened next felt almost like fate guiding her.

The door slowly opened.

A lazy-looking young man with faint dark circles stepped into view.

Under the clearest morning sunlight-

The two of them met again.
