Chapter 1 - The Dare

The main character, Rudhra, races toward the university gate with a horde of zombies close behind. Just as he crosses through, the screen distorts and snaps back to the past.

A group of students discusses a hidden gate rumored to be near the college premises. They argue about whether it's truly a secret passage near the university. Rudhra doesn't believe it exists and dares the others, who insist the passage is real, to find it.

The group searches for hours, and just when they're about to give up, they finally locate it. By then, it's already dark. Excited and nervous, they decide to record everything on video.

They turn on their flashlights and point them at the passage entrance. It's a deep, narrow tunnel stretching far into the darkness. As they begin exploring, one of them nervously says, "Can't we visit this in the morning?"

Another snaps back, "Stop talking and move."

Meanwhile, Rudhra, back in his room, laughs to himself. That bunch of idiots thinks they can actually find a passage. He shakes his head, amused, and falls asleep, planning to make fun of them the next day.

Inside the tunnel, the group walks carefully, the echoes of their footsteps bouncing off the walls. One of them tries to lighten the mood, joking about ghosts, but the laughter that follows is nervous.

As they go deeper, one student suddenly trips and mutters, "I feel like something is wrong."

The others reassure him, "No, we have to prove we're brave."

After walking for several minutes, they reach a large metal door. They stare at it—silent, unsure. One of them tries to push it open, but it doesn't move. They all pull together, and after a few moments of straining, the door creaks open.

Inside, they find strange structures, broken equipment, and old chemistry tools scattered around. The air feels heavy and stale. They realize they've stepped into an abandoned laboratory.

Curious, they split up to explore. One of them finds a locked cabinet labeled:

NO ENTRY – FOR SPECIAL ACCESS ONLY ☠️

The cabinet isn't fully locked, so he opens it carefully. Inside, there is a tube filled with strange liquid and a vial containing an unknown substance. He picks up the vial to examine it closely.

Suddenly, another student accidentally kicks a metal door nearby, causing a loud bang. Startled, the first student drops the vial. It shatters on the floor, releasing a thick, foul-smelling gas.

He starts coughing violently, choking as his friends rush toward him. His eyes widen, veins bulge, and a horrible gurgling sound escapes his throat. The others scream his name, but his body convulses, twisting unnaturally, foam forming at the corners of his mouth.

Suddenly, they feel the horror of the gas in the room. They begin to choke, collapsing to the ground and convulsing violently. Veins bulge across their skin, and foam bubbles from their mouths. The entire tunnel falls silent.

After a few minutes,

They rise slowly, each movement stiff and jerky, as if their muscles no longer obey them. Their eyes, once wide with fear, are now clouded and pale, veins darkening beneath the skin like black rivers. Their breaths come in shallow, rasping gasps, each exhale rattling in the still air of the tunnel.

A faint foam drips from the corners of their mouths, sticky and white, and the smell of something metallic and sour clings to the air, thickening with every passing second.

The tunnel, once echoing with screams and coughing, now feels alive with quiet menace.

The virus began adapting to their bodies. Their limbs jerked violently as if struck by electricity. Hands, legs, and heads twisted in unnatural directions. Their bodies convulsed uncontrollably for a few seconds—then suddenly, everything went still.

A deep grunt of a wild boar echoed outside the laboratory. At that exact moment, all the students' heads turned sharply toward the sound. Without a word, they began to move in that direction. Some stumbled against walls and locked doors, while a few managed to find their way out of the tunnel. Drawn by the noise, they shuffled toward the forest's edge.

Soon, they started to scatter, each zombie wandering in a different direction.

The first ones that exited the tunnel made their way toward a nearby town.

One of the zombies that had fallen earlier noticed a human figure nearby—a delivery man loading goods into his vehicle. The man saw the staggering figure and mistook it for an old person who needed help. As he reached out, the zombie lunged forward and bit him.

The virus entered his bloodstream instantly. The delivery man, in shock, pulled away, thinking the old man was suffering from some strange disease like rabies. He decided to visit a hospital to get his arm checked. Mounting his vehicle, he started driving quickly, his mind racing. He glanced back and saw more pale, staggering figures emerging from behind the "old man." Fear gripped him, and he sped up, hoping to escape.

Halfway down the road, he felt his body grow heavy. His heartbeat thundered in his chest, and his vision began to blur. Veins bulged across his skin like dark roots. Losing control, he crashed into a small store.

People nearby rushed to help. They climbed onto the driver's cabin to pull him out—but as soon as one man reached in, the driver bit him and clawed at another. The bitten man tried to run but collapsed moments later, while the other groaned in pain.

From the smoke and wreckage, the driver emerged. His skin had turned pale and lifeless, his veins black and swollen. His eyes rolled back, and his steps were slow and unsteady, like a drunken corpse. He walked toward the screaming man and sank his teeth into his ear, tearing it off. Within minutes, both men transformed into the infected.

Meanwhile, the hero slept peacefully in his bed, dreaming of mocking his friends for their "failed adventure."

The next morning, he went to college as usual. He didn't see the group anywhere. Smirking, he thought, "They probably saw a moving bush and ran off scared." He chuckled quietly to himself. "What a bunch of idiots."
