Nikki scoffed.
The blonde woman stood with her arms crossed, her diamond bracelets clinking together. Her two friends flanked her, their eyes raking over Nikki and Roxy with undisguised contempt.
Nikki didn't flinch. She kept her posture straight, channeling the confidence of the man who had just kissed her hand.
"What questions would that be?" Nikki asked, her voice dangerously calm.
The blonde smiled, a brittle, ugly thing. "I'm just curious about the vetting process for the 'Director of Relations.' Tell me, did you actually have to take an aptitude test for your new title, or did you just drop to your knees in his office and hope for the best?"
