"Here?" Nikki choked out, her voice echoing in the small, luxurious private study. "Are you insane? We are at a diplomatic gala! There are people right outside that door!"
Wait, why am I even complaining, this is exactly what I want.
General A-01 didn't blink. He didn't even look at the door. He kept her pinned, his body a solid, immovable wall.
Whatever riled him up, Nikki was sat for it.
"It doesn't matter," he stated, his voice so low, it vibrated against her chest.
He didn't move his hand from her hip. All the doors clicked shut and even the windows went blind black.
He was shutting them in, giving her a reason to swallow her excuses.
"There is nowhere you can escape to," A-01 murmured, leaning down until his lips brushed the shell of her ear. "You initiated this sequence, Nikki. You petitioned for it. You purchased synthetic rivals because you believed I was incapable."
Well, he was not wrong about that one now.
But now…. I am clearly DUMBFOUNDED.
