"Ding"
Su Meng's phone screen lit up, another video from Su Che.
Her fingers trembled slightly as she eagerly tapped to open it.
In the video, the piano room was softly lit. Jiang Ning was patiently teaching Mengmeng to play the piano.
His gaze was focused and gentle, his slender fingers dancing nimbly across the keys. He played and explained softly, every movement and expression filled with patience and concentration.
Su Meng was greatly shocked, thinking to herself: No way, Jiang Ning knows so much!
Not only was he good at teaching drawing, but he could also teach piano so well, and the patience he showed towards Mengmeng was truly rare.
Thinking of this, Su Meng's favorability towards Jiang Ning increased another level.
Recalling the past, she had asked her younger brother, Su Che, to help find some trustworthy people to be nannies.
At the time, Su Che recommended his classmate, Jiang Ning, but she strongly opposed it.
In her mind, how could a young boy possibly take care of a little girl?
It was simply impossible.
Later, unable to argue with her brother, he had even advised her to observe for a while and then change if it didn't work out.
She had only given her brother face at the time, thinking that if she let Jiang Ning try to take care of Mengmeng, he would probably give up on his own.
She hadn't expected that in just a short time, Jiang Ning would take such good care of Mengmeng, who had also shown obvious changes, which allowed her to leave on a business trip with peace of mind.
She had left her assistant at the company, also thinking that if Jiang Ning couldn't manage, the assistant could find a new nanny to take over in time.
Now it seemed like she was being overly suspicious.
Watching the video, Su Meng's gaze was unconsciously drawn to Jiang Ning's back. That broad and warm back seemed to possess a reassuring power. Her eyes were fixed on it, completely ignoring Mengmeng, who was sitting beside Jiang Ning.
Time passed quietly, and another hour went by.
"Mengmeng, your piano lesson is over for now. Let's go downstairs, watch some TV, and Uncle Jiang will make you something delicious, okay?"
Jiang Ning's voice was gentle and intimate, breaking the silence of the piano room.
"But, but Mengmeng still can't play 'Two Tigers'!"
Mengmeng's voice carried a hint of grievance, her small eyebrows furrowed slightly.
"Mengmeng, you're already great! At such a young age, you've learned so much in an hour. Mengmeng is simply super awesome!"
Jiang Ning smiled and patted Mengmeng's head, his eyes full of encouragement.
"Really? Is Mengmeng really amazing?"
Mengmeng's eyes immediately lit up, and she asked in a childish voice.
"Yes, Mengmeng is the best! When Uncle Jiang was your age, he couldn't do anything." Jiang Ning patiently coaxed Mengmeng.
"Hehe, then Mengmeng will go watch TV, Mengmeng wants to watch the cartoon Panda Doesn't Eat Vegetarian." Mengmeng clapped her hands happily, a bright smile on her face.
"Let's go."
Jiang Ning held Mengmeng's chubby little hand, and the two walked into the elevator together, going down to the first floor.
As soon as he saw Su Che, Jiang Ning asked, "Old Su, are you sure we're eating here for lunch?"
"Of course! I've never tasted your cooking before, so I'm really looking forward to it."
Su Che rubbed his hands together, his face full of anticipation.
"Alright then, keep Mengmeng company and watch TV for half an hour. She wants to watch Panda Doesn't Eat Vegetarian, so help her find it. I'll go get busy in the kitchen," Jiang Ning said as he walked towards the kitchen.
"Don't worry, Lao Jiang, go ahead and do your thing. Mengmeng, come here, be a good girl. Uncle Su will put on the cartoon for you." Su Che held Mengmeng's hand, his expression doting.
Jiang Ning knew Su Che's appetite and tastes like the back of his hand.
Back in college, they ate in the cafeteria together, and he knew exactly what Su Che liked and disliked.
He opened the refrigerator; fortunately, there was plenty of food inside.
Jiang Ning took out his phone and started recording, as usual. The camera only captured his nimble hands, the neatly arranged ingredients, and the roaring stove, deliberately avoiding his face.
Half an hour later, a rich aroma of food wafted out, drifting from the kitchen door into the living room.
"So fragrant?" Su Che couldn't help but exclaim, sniffing the air intensely.
"Hehe, Uncle Su, don't you know? Uncle Jiang's cooking is delicious!"
Mengmeng raised her head, beaming with pride, her eyes sparkling.
"Really? Then Uncle Su will have a treat later."
Su Che said, and his stomach audibly "gurgled." He smiled awkwardly and instinctively swallowed.
Five minutes later, Jiang Ning turned off the video, checked it carefully, and made sure his face wasn't in it before uploading it to Huayin.
When he saw his Huayin account, he was stunned.
In a short time, his follower count had risen to over 300,000, and the likes were still climbing. There were even too many comments to count.
But now wasn't the time to check those. He quickly turned off his phone.
"Mengmeng, wash your hands and eat! Old Su, it's time to eat!"
Jiang Ning shouted as he brought a table full of dishes with excellent color, aroma, and taste, along with steaming hot soup.
Su Che and Mengmeng turned off the TV and, after washing their hands, went to the dining table.
"Grrrumble," Su Che's stomach rumbled again.
Looking at the table full of delicious food, he widened his eyes and said in surprise, "Seriously, Lao Jiang, when did you get this good at cooking?
These dishes look like works of art, the color and aroma are comparable to the level of a five-star chef, but I don't know how they taste?"
Jiang Ning served the rice and casually responded, "Lao Su, we never asked when we ate together in college."
He couldn't tell Su Che that this cooking skill was bound to a Super Dad System, could he?
"Alright, hurry up and use your chopsticks to taste it."
Jiang Ning smiled and beckoned.
Jiang Ning specially made a Steamed Fish.
He remembered that Su Che loved eating fish when he was in college, so he wanted to give his old friend a surprise.
At the dinner table, the Steamed Fish was exquisitely plated, with tender fish meat sprinkled with emerald green shredded scallions and golden shredded ginger. The steamed fish soy sauce shimmered under the light, exuding an enticing luster and a fresh aroma.
Su Che couldn't wait to pick up a piece of fish and put it in his mouth. Instantly, the tenderness of the fish spread between his teeth, delicate and smooth, melting in his mouth.
The steaming method perfectly preserved the original flavor of the fish. The faint fish fragrance mixed with the refreshing fragrance of the scallions and ginger was just right, as if each bite carried the deliciousness of the sea.
"Old Jiang, your skills are amazing! This Steamed Fish is so authentic; it rivals the ones in big hotels."
Su Che ate while giving a thumbs up, praising it endlessly. His words were full of love for the dish and recognition of Jiang Ning's cooking skills.
Jiang Ning watched Su Che eating with relish, a satisfied smile on his face, as if all the hard work was worth it at this moment.
