Chapter 47 - Chapter 44: The Warning and the Hot Spring

Jujutsu High. First-Year Classroom.

"White Zetsu, where is Fake Smile?" Gojo asked.

"He went back to the Zenin Estate," White Zetsu replied listlessly. "Said he had 'troublesome issues' to resolve."

"I see." Gojo nodded.

"Sensei!" Yuji raised his hand. "What are we learning today?"

"Nothing!" Gojo grinned. "I have an urgent mission overseas. I'm leaving now."

"EH?!" Yuji and Nobara gaped.

"So," Gojo pointed at Zetsu. "You can learn from Zetsu-sensei for a few days."

"WHAT?! HIM?!"

"Tch." Zetsu crossed his legs on the desk, looking smug. "Beg me, and I might teach you."

Megumi sighed. "He's actually capable. He's been on missions with the second-years."

Gojo waved and left. "Bye-bye!"

Yuji slapped his forehead. "Unreliable teacher."

Zetsu cleared his throat.

Cough, cough.

"I'm waiting for you to bow, Underlings!"

...

Zenin Estate. Second Underground Level.

Mirai stood on the steps of the dark warehouse.

"Retrieve all the corpses from the Bath," he ordered. "We're moving the base."

Jogo's attack yesterday proved that Kenjaku was watching him too closely. He needed to hide his assets (White Zetsu's spare bodies).

Naobito and the servants pulled nearly a hundred bloated corpses from the blood pool.

Sorcerers. Non-sorcerers. Curse Users.

Among them was Haruta Shigemo, his blonde hair stained purple.

Juzo Kumiya (The Tanner) watched, shivering.

Six months ago, Mirai ordered him to cripple a limb as punishment. Since Juzo needed his hands for crafting and his legs for walking...

He cut off his "fifth limb."

Mirai admired the sheer insanity of the choice.

"Master," Juzo bowed, sweating. "I will serve you forever! Please don't kill me!"

"Move them upstairs," Mirai said coldly. "If anyone tries to run, kill them."

Mirai walked to the hanging Cursed Spirits.

Ten blood-red vessels shot out from his Kamui Dimension, absorbing the remaining spirits.

...

Half an hour later. Mirai sat in the pavilion, brewing tea.

He dialed a number.

"How is he?" Mirai asked softly. "Jogo's injury isn't fatal, right?"

Silence on the other end. Then, Suguru Geto's voice (Kenjaku).

"How did you know it was me?"

"Don't play dumb," Mirai sipped his tea. "You sent him to test me. To see my Domain."

"Don't try to find out my weaknesses again. This is your only warning."

"Next time... I'll rip off the heads of those four trash curses you're collecting. And yours too."

"Do you understand?"

Silence. The call disconnected.

...

Tokyo. A Hidden Hot Spring.

Steam rose from the water.

Hanami stood by the rocks.

Jogo soaked in the water, only half his head visible (the rest was still regenerating).

And a young man with a stitched-up face swam lazily.

Mahito.

"Jogo," Mahito asked, smiling. "Is that guy really as strong as you say?"

"Strong?" Jogo shuddered. "He's a monster."

"I don't even know how I lost. One second I was winning... the next I was dying on the ground."

"If Hanami hadn't saved me, I'd be dust."

Jogo glared at Mahito. "Be careful, Mahito. If you see Zenin Mirai... run."

"Relax~" Mahito stood up, naked and grinning.

"I won't pick a fight I can't win."

"But humans are so fragile. I wonder what his soul looks like?"
