Zenin Estate. The First Floor of the Warehouse.
"So..." Naobito asked, standing at the entrance. "Is my job to supervise the Curse Users downstairs?"
"Just in case," Mirai nodded. "I have to stay here for a while. If something happens, Hisashi might not be able to handle it alone."
"What if they cause trouble?" Naobito frowned. "Those two seem... unstable."
"Beat them," Mirai said coldly. "If they try to run... kill them. Except for Juzo. We need his craftsmanship."
White Zetsu raised his hand. "What about me? Can I go back to school?"
"Sure," Mirai said. "Zenin Hisashi will escort you tomorrow. I'll have the Cursed Tools sent over when they're ready."
Zetsu looked surprised. "Wait... Shoko already dissected me! She knows I'm a corpse! If I go back, won't she just cut me up again?"
"Surveillance is unavoidable," Mirai replied calmly. "But they won't attack you directly."
"Why?"
"Because you are an ant," Mirai said flatly. "Even a talking ant is just a curiosity, not a threat. As long as you maintain your harmless, chuunibyou persona, the Higher-ups won't risk a war with the Zenin Clan over a Grade 4 curse."
Naobito nodded. "Mirai is right. You have the Zenin Clan behind you. And Gojo Satoru has protected weirder things (Panda)."
Zetsu scratched his head. "What if they ask about the body? It's different from the last one."
"Just say it's the corpse of a Zenin sorcerer who died from overtraining," Mirai said.
"Legal grounds? We can forge as many as we want. Laws only bind the weak."
"Alright then!" Zetsu grinned, showing his serrated teeth. "School life, here I come!"
"Oh, and Zetsu..." Mirai pointed at the corner of Zetsu's mouth, which was still bleeding black blood from the sword-swallowing incident. "Fix your face."
...
The Next Morning.
Zenin Hisashi escorted White Zetsu to Jujutsu High.
Mirai remained at the Zenin Estate. He sat in a newly renovated pavilion at the entrance of the Warehouse.
On the stone table sat hot tea and intelligence files.
Behind him stood a coffin.
Inside the coffin was the body of Suguru Geto.
Mirai took a sip of tea.
"I agreed to your request, Suguru," Mirai muttered to the coffin. "I spared your family."
"So I suppose you wouldn't mind if I used your body to go fishing."
Target: Kenjaku.
The brain-hopping sorcerer needed Geto's body for his plans. Since Gojo didn't cremate Geto in this timeline (because Mirai took the body), Kenjaku would have to come here to retrieve it.
"The bait is set," Mirai whispered.
...
Jujutsu High. The Entrance.
Maki, Inumaki, Yuta, and Panda walked silently. The mood was heavy. They all remembered the stench of the infirmary yesterday.
"Minna~!"
"Konnichiwa~!"
A familiar, annoying voice rang out.
They turned around. White Zetsu was waving at them, grinning like an idiot.
Maki marched up to him. She ignored Hisashi and punched Zetsu in the chest.
Thud.
Zetsu stumbled. "Ow! Maki-chan! That hurts!"
"Are you alright, you idiot?" Maki asked, her voice tight with worry.
Zetsu flashed a clown smile. He lifted his robe, revealing his pale chest. "Uncle is perfectly fine! See? No scars!"
"You..."
Maki's worry turned to rage. She spin-kicked him, launching him several meters into the air.
...
The Third Floor Hallway.
Gojo Satoru, Yaga, Shoko, and Mei Mei watched from the window.
Gojo pulled down his blindfold, his Six Eyes scanning the scene.
"Interesting," Gojo laughed. "If it weren't for the Six Eyes, I wouldn't be able to tell."
"Cursed Energy signature is identical. But the body..."
"Height decreased by 0.7 cm. Left shoulder sagged by 0.3 cm. Bone density in the legs is higher."
"Without special eyes, no one would notice."
Shoko lit a cigarette, her eyes cold. "So... it really is a new corpse."
"He hops bodies like changing clothes," Yaga muttered, disgusted.
Mei Mei ignored them. She was staring at the metal briefcase Zenin Hisashi was holding.
60 Million Yen, she thought, licking her lips. My bonus has arrived.
