Soon, Archer brought out a fragrant bowl of omurice from the kitchen. The aroma stimulated Akatsuki's taste buds, making her unable to resist picking up the spoon beside her.
"What is a member of the True Ancestor royalty doing in Fuyuki City? For the Holy Grail?"
"Of course not." Eating the omurice, Akatsuki looked at Archer in his apron across the table. "In this world, only fun and women interest me. As for the Holy Grail... a bunch of people fighting to the death over a cup is utterly boring."
"So you came to Fuyuki City to find fun?" Archer asked doubtfully.
"Something like that..." Akatsuki smiled, not denying it. "But my main goal is still to find a Young lady. After all, who doesn't like a fresh and tender girl? Whether as food or as a lover, they are the best choice!"
"Is my Master within your range as well?"
"Of course not." Contrary to Archer's expectations, Akatsuki flatly denied it. Dropping her spoon into the empty plate, Akatsuki revealed a smile. "Tohsaka Rin... she's beautiful, isn't she? Like a raw gemstone that makes one want to collect her and personally polish her into the shape one desires~"
"Akatsuki, I've tidied up the guest room. You'll stay there tonight... what are you two talking about?"
Sensing that the atmosphere in the living room was a bit heavy, Tohsaka Rin asked cautiously.
"It's nothing."
The night passed in silence.
The next morning.
Tohsaka Rin and Akatsuki sat side-by-side on the sofa drinking black tea.
"It's delicious."
"Archer, you must have been a virtuous husband and a good father in your past life. Whether it's black tea, cooking, or cleaning, you're highly proficient in everything."
Archer ignored Akatsuki's teasing and stood beside Tohsaka Rin without a word, seemingly unwilling to say much to Akatsuki.
Seeing Archer ignore her, Akatsuki didn't bother to keep pestering him, so she turned her gaze toward Tohsaka Rin sitting nearby.
Black stockings covered her perfectly-toned fair legs, and she wore the uniform of the Privately-run Homurahara Academy with a red coat over it. Her features were elegant, her eyes blue, and she wore her hair in twin tails tied with black ribbons.
"Truly worthy of being the number one beauty of Homurahara."
Thinking this, Akatsuki drained her tea and snapped her fingers, looking at Archer. "Isn't it time for breakfast?"
"I'm not your nanny!"
"Eh?" Akatsuki blanked for a moment, then her gaze toward Archer held a hint of helplessness. "Archer, since you are Tohsaka Rin's Servant, I'll be blunt with you. Humans are fragile things; it won't do if they don't eat properly. Moreover, your Master is currently in her developmental stage. How can she go without breakfast?"
Archer looked at Tohsaka Rin, who had finished her tea and was preparing to leave, and suddenly felt that Akatsuki's words made some sense. Seeing Archer begin to waver, Akatsuki lay back on the sofa and continued.
"Your Master seems to have a habit of oversleeping. To avoid being late for school, she probably often goes without breakfast. Setting the past aside, now that you've become her Servant, you should take responsibility and have breakfast ready every day before she wakes up."
"After all, only with a full stomach can one face the upcoming battles in the best condition."
"I see, what you say does make some sense." Archer nodded as he cleared the tea set, watching Tohsaka Rin at the entrance as she called the Church supervisor. He seemed to be considering what to make for breakfast tomorrow.
Poor Tohsaka Rin had not yet realized that today's oversleeping might be the last time she got to do so for a while.
"The main thing is, as the one paying, Tohsaka Rin can't even guarantee me three meals a day. That's quite thoughtless." Saying this, Akatsuki stood up and walked toward the kitchen. "Forget it for today; I'll show you how it's done."
Before long, Akatsuki brought out three sandwiches from the kitchen. After handing one to Archer, she stuffed another into Tohsaka Rin's hand.
Tohsaka Rin and Archer exchanged a glance, both seeing the surprise in each other's eyes.
"It's been a while since I've made these, so it's normal if my skills have slipped a bit." Akatsuki finished the palm-sized sandwich in a few bites. "Tohsaka Rin, if you don't leave now, you'll be late."
After taking a bite, Archer said flatly, "Bread, lettuce, carrots, meat patty, fried egg..."
"This fellow actually has some skill," Archer thought to himself.
For some reason, after eating, a hint of competitiveness appeared in Archer's eyes as he looked at Akatsuki, leaving her somewhat puzzled.
"Delicious!" Tohsaka Rin praised sincerely. "Thanks for the breakfast!"
Once Tohsaka Rin and Archer had left the Tohsaka Residence, Akatsuki looked at the empty room and suddenly realized: if Archer didn't take over the job of making breakfast every day, wouldn't she become Tohsaka Rin's nanny?!
She spent three gold bars just to connect with Tohsaka Rin, only to end up as her nanny?!
Is this what they call paying to work?!
Akatsuki shook her head vigorously to cast out such terrifying thoughts. At the same time, she decided that if Tohsaka Rin really intended to treat her as a nanny, she would find a way to stay at Shirou Emiya's house for a while.
After all, Shirou Emiya wouldn't tolerate anyone snatching his job.
"It's decided! It makes no sense to transmigrate as a True Ancestor and still have to cook for others every day!"
Lying on the sofa, Akatsuki went over the three routes of Fate/Stay Night in her mind.
The Fate route, the UBW route, and the HF route.
As well as the Illya route, which was dismembered and mixed into the three main routes.
"The specific route still has to be left to Shirou Emiya to choose." Thinking of this, her gaze darkened, and a mocking smile appeared on her lips. "How could that be? Choosing the route is definitely something I have to do. I just can't cause too much of a stir; it would be troublesome if the Church and the Mages Association were drawn in."
For now, Akatsuki didn't want to be targeted by Arcueid, nor did she want to be labeled a fallen True Ancestor by the Church, and she certainly didn't want to leave this newly found peace.
"But transmigrating into Fate really only involves a few things: kill the Old Maggot to save Sakura, chop off Gilgamesh's arm, and finally have Saber voluntarily destroy the Holy Grail."
Actually, it wasn't necessary for Saber to cut the Grail, but Akatsuki was a sentimental person—no, True Ancestor—so she wanted to see the scene of Saber cutting the Grail one more time.
"No time to lose, let's go deal with the Old Maggot first!"
