It was july 17th when we pulled up to the campsite in two vans. Andre drove 1 with me, lisha, alliyah, mae. El- john followed by benjamin, gian and Jeffrey. Our group of 10 had beed planning this trip since we graduated high school two years ago.
"Finally!!!, no work, No parents,just us and the woods!!!" Benjamin yelled with excitement
"Yessssssss!!!!" everyone yelled out.
We started getting the campsite ready right away. We set up our sites near a grove of pine trees – Charmine was already decorating our main hangout area with string lights she'd brought along. Once everything was in place, we gathered around to roast hotdogs and tell stupid jokes.
It was Benjamin who first noticed something was off. "Guys... did you see that? Someone was watching us from the trees."
We all looked, but there was no one there. Alliyah and Andre burst out laughing. "Maybe you just imagined it!" Alliyah said.
"I swear! I really saw someone in dark clothes back there," Benjamin insisted.
"Chill bro, it's probably just another camper," Gian said calmly.
"You're such a scaredy-cat – are you even straight?" El-John teased.
Everyone cracked up at that, and Benjamin just rolled his eyes, trying to play it cool even though I could tell he was still on edge.
